Great Bluetooth receiver
Nice little box, good range and easy to pair with phone and audio player. Sound quality seems good to my ears. Used to connect audio to old Sony stereo using its optical input. Works well. Happy with unexpected bonus of an optical cable included in the box.

Excellent Sound
A friend had recently sent me an Amazon gift voucher as a birthday gift so I decided to go for this bluetooth receiver. My main use of it is to stream music either from a new Android phone I'll soon be getting or from my Echo Dot 3rd Gen which will include listening to internet radio. I had previously purchased an Aukey bluetooth receiver but whilst that was good I decided to get this not only because of the volume control but also because it has aptX low latency. It arrived yesterday and since then I've been 100% satisfied with the sound. I unwrapped it, took it across to my HiFi, plugged in the Aux cable, then the micro USB cable, plugged it into a USB wall plug then switched it on, pressing the volume button till it reached the max, then I paired it with my Echo device, afterwards turning that to the max volume and told Alexa to play Andy Williams music. In no time Andy Williams was coming through my speakers with excellent sound, much better than the Aukey. This morning I tried a Beethoven Piano Concerto Cycle with Sir Colin Davis as conductor and where as with the Aukey I had to turn the volume up pretty high to hear it, on this one there was no need for that. There's also a bass boost on it which makes the sound so much better. Anyway just a bit of help if you're not sure how to set it up or are a blind person as I am. In the box you'll find the 1MII bluetooth receiver. Unwrap this and then in the box there are several cables. If like me you just want to use this sort of cable, have it plugged into the aux socket on your HiFi and the other end into the receiver. Place the 1MII with the aerials pointing away from you and the receiver standing on a hard surface. It has four round rubber non-slip circles at the bottom. At the top in the centre there's a large button which is the pause knob if you're listening to something. With the arials pointing away from you there are two sockets, the first on the left is the micro USB cable. As there is no plug, it might be wise to get a USB plug from Amazon (I use the Amazonbasics which serves excellently). Plug the other end into your wall socket plug and the next socket is the Aux socket. Once you're set up, on the bottom on the right there's a round button which is on and off. Press it once and the receiver will start up. On your left is the bass boost so if you want excellent sound, press that then at the top you'll find the volume down and on the right the volume up. With a long press these buttons will skip back and forward respectively. Pair your Echo device or phone and you're good to go. I will be continuing to use this until I eventually go into streaming in a bigger way but I can certainly recommend it if you just want it for the HiFi in your room. There are two other sockets on the right at the top but as I don't use them I'm not sure what they are nor am I anxious to explore them since what I now have gives excellent sound.

Quality kit that's easy to use and really useful
This worked in minutes straight out of the box and delivered exactly what was expected. Great sound quality and simple to set up. Allows me to cnnect bluetooth devices across the house easily which means that I can both wander around the house with phone in pocket transmitting spotify music to my high quality sound system in the lounge just as easily as I can play my entired stored music collection from the PC in my study, several rooms away.

Good but not AUDIOFILE Quality
I wanted a Bluetooth receiver to stream my Flac music collection from my Sony NW55A Digital music player to my Cambridge amp HIFI system so settled on this mid range receiver because it has all the right codecs This little box is good for the money and the sound was half decent and is far better especially in aptX-HD than the cheaper battery Bluetooth units that can be had for £10 But I returned this after listening to a Bluedento BL2 also in aptX-HD and was blow away with the sound Yes it's twice the price but DAC inside makes all the difference and i would say most people wouldn't be able to know that it wasn't a CD playing. So as the old saying goes you only get what you pay for!

Always sends signal to DAC
UPDATE July 2023: I've had this unit for a few months now and I like it more than I did immediately after purchase. aptX HD sounds amazing on my Benchmark DAC3. It's truly CD quality, plus the signal never drops out. However, this unit outputs ALL audio at 24 bit/44 khz no matter what the source is, so I'm not sure exactly what type of processing it's doing. I personally don't think LDAC is fit for purpose due to constant droputs at 660 and 990 kbps (LDAC has 3 bit rates, 330/660/990 kbps, and your phone will likely lower the bit rate to 330kbps to prevent dropouts, which is lower than aptX HD's bit rate of 576 kbps). So I really like that this Bluetooth receiver has aptX HD and not LDAC, which I think is a great compromise between sound quality and dropouts. Original review (March 2023): I can confirm this unit has a coaxial and optical digital output, which is rare. Most Bluetooth receivers only have optical out. The main reason I'm not 100% happy with this Bluetooth receiver is because it never stops sending an active signal to my DAC. Since my DAC has no power button and turns itself off when there is no audio signal (it's a Benchmark DAC1 USB), my DAC always stays ON if this receiver is connected. So I have to turn off the Bluetooth receiver, which is kind of a pain as I like it to automatically connect to my phone without any faff. The other problem is that I'm not sure the digital signal this Bluetooth receiver sends to my DAC is bit perfect, but it still sounds good. The unit has a volume control, which you should never use because digital volume controls reduce volume by lowering the bit rate of your music. For digital music, the bits, such as 16 bits, control the volume of the various sounds in the music. So if the bits are lowered to say, 8 bits, to reduce the volume, you lose the dynamics in the music that's played because all of the instruments will sound like they are the same volume. So I recommend only using the maximum volume setting on this device at all times to maintain the highest bit rate and let your amplifier control the volume. Also, this unit has a "3D" setting which makes the music sound very weird. It certainly isn't 3D! I recommend you keep this feature turned OFF.

My application for the B06 Pro is sending music from my Windows 10 computer to my Sony STR-DG520 Home Theatre Amplifier/Receiver. I used to do this by using Miracast to cast music from the computer to the TV and then from the TV through an optical cable to the Home Theatre Amp/Receiver. This got my music from the computer to my speaker system but the sound quality was poor. I also had to reconnect the Miracast device on the TV whenever I wanted to listen to music through the home theatre speaker system. I ordered the B06 Pro with the hope of improving my music listening experience. I always feel that the quality of a product's packaging is an indication of the quality of the product. If the packaging is cheap and "low-end", then the product is probably "low-end" also. The B06 Pro packaging is definitely "high-end" and the product design reinforces that feeling. The user interface is easy and intuitive and includes: Power On/Off; Play/Pause/Pair; Next/Previous Track; Volume Up/Down; 3D Sound Effect On/Off. With my new setup, the B06 Pro connects to the computer via Bluetooth. The music goes by Bluetooth from the computer to the B06 Pro and then through an optical cable to the Home Theatre Amp/Receiver. The sound quality is excellent and there is no interference. The B06 Pro stays connected so, when I want to to listen to music, all I have to do is turn on the Home Theatre Amp/Receiver and start the music playing on the computer. Even though the B06 Pro setup is simple, I did have a minor issue at first. When I contacted Customer Support they responded immediately and resolved my problem. You can buy the B06 Pro with confidence; it's a high-quality device, it performs beautifully and the Customer Support is first-class.
