Great, lightweight boot with military origins for warm climates
This boot design was based off of French Army boots, and was copied by the Viet Cong (now the Vietnamese army) who issued near-identical versions to their soldiers for 40 years up to today. This should give you an idea of how good these shoe/boots are. I wore mine through jungles, forests, rivers and sand without any problem. While it doesn't have drain holes, the boots dried out fast when I used them; a godsend in nastier conditions. Lighter weight than many other hiking-oriented boots, and has terrific traction and ankle support, not to mention how comfortable they are; I experienced no rubbing or abrasions of any kind despite wearing them constantly and in rough terrain. Be warned that heavy abuse can damage them somewhat; the heels on mine have torn slightly but this can be repaired easily by hand if you're used to repairing clothes. Highly recommend them for warm/hot climates, do not recommend for cold ones (no insulation, can't dry out if wet & cold, etc).

Great Boots
I have worn Palladium boots for years, with uppers made of various materials, and I am always happy with them. I wear size 11 (US) Palladium boots, and typically 11.5 (US) running shoes. They fit great and they are super comfortable all day whether I walk on pavement or hike rugged terrain. My favorites have been a pair with split-grain leather uppers. They are super soft and quiet and perfect for stalking birds to get close for photos. The full grain leather uppers are comfortable and supportive when broken in, but they don't breathe as well as other materials and they make my feet feel somewhat clammy during cool weather. My socks tend to get damp with the full-grain uppers when I wear them all day without changing socks. The canvas uppers need almost zero break-in time and are ready to go hiking mountain trails or city streets and are even comfortable when running or moving fast.

A good-looking canvas boot
The boot's canvas upper breathes as you would expect, and the sole has an aggressive hard rubber tread that should serve well in damp environments. You will have to clean the tread whenever the tread picks up some mud and pebbles. I've bought Palladium shoes before, and you can be sure that the tread will hardly show any wear by the time that the canvas starts fraying. As for the fit, Palladium shoes are tight on my feet because I have a relatively high arch. Going up a half size completely solved the problem and made for a comfortable fit.

Another Good Palladium Boot
This was my 6th pair of Palladium boots of 3 different materials. The canvas boots have no equal in comfort for casual shoes(well, maybe ecco shoes are more comfortable but not in this price range or material). This boot was comfortable right out of the box. I was wondering about this type of leather boot being as comfortable as the canvas. It is but in a different way that is equally comfortable. And,to be honest, canvas just doesn't work during winter in Cleveland. So they are comfortable, warm, and my feet are dry. I wear a relatively narrow size 13 shoe. They look narrow on my feet and fit well. I don't know if these would work for someone with wide feet.In any case, these fit well, look good, and are keeping my feet warm in 8 degree weather. A good purchase.

I like them. A lot.
I marked them "Fits as expected". I "actually" wear a 12.5 size shoe. 98% of the mfgrs don't do as 1/2 size for anything > 11. But some mfgrs I can wear their size 12. This is one of those. I bought an insert. The cheapest one out there. Just a flat foot shape. Adds just the right amount of cushion. I have worn these sense I got them. They are my "go to" shoe. Only place I don't wear them is to the gym. I like the way they look, and feel. Very pleased with the price. Like having a Keds with treads (rhymes). But MUCH cheaper than Keds these days. I was raised poor and all we could afford was Keds. I wouldn't be able to get them now.

Good quality
I still have my old palladium I bought more than 25 years ago. And they are still in perfect shape. I order 7and 1/2 Instead of the 7 of my old one because it is not the same exact design and it fit perfectly just they are a little more tight than the original one and I think is normal since it is fabric with time it is more lose. They change the sole of the shoes and it is confortable. Hope this one will have a long life too.

Real boots
I've never owned boots from Palladium before, but I didn't expect them to feel like boots. I didn't really take them seriously and I was more interested in the style. I expected more of a tougher-looking pair of chucks, and I was ok with that. Well, I was wrong. They are sturdy, rugged, well-made boots. I would feel secure doing boot-like activities with these. Not to mention, they're pretty comfortable for what they are, and they fit well. And I like the way they look.

These shoes can be worn with both athletic and casual attire and they look great with a pair of jeans
The earlier design of this shoe was a little narrow but the newer designs seem wider. I generally wear a size 10 and my feet would be classified as med to wide but with these shoes the size 11 fits me perfectly. These shoes can be worn with both athletic and casual attire and they look great with a pair of jeans. They offer the perfect balance of comfort and support for both walking and short hikes. However, for longer or extended athletic activities I would recommend some kind of padded insole/inserts.
