and the lids unscrew easily though seal tightly
My wife and I were looking for a suitable replacement for plastic water bottles. Though we reused ours for a time, we eventually had to pitch them out. Because we were reusing the bottles that come with spring water in them, they were flimsy, prone to tip, and of course, there's that whole environment thing...These fit the bill perfectly. Though the mouths are slightly wider than the bottles of water you buy at the store, it makes them easier to clean, they are dishwasher safe (even the lids), and hold 2 more ounces or so than the standard ones. They also fit in any cup holder you have, and the lids unscrew easily though seal tightly.Wish I had found and bought these years ago.

Great replacement for plastic bottles
I bought these to take to work instead of having to buy tea and other drinks throughout the day. I always liked drinking out of glass rather than plastic. Also, with glass there won't be any "leaching" of plastic once the plastic gets warm.Pros: Reusable; Easy to clean;Cons: The threads on the glass have a rough parting line where the mold splits. This edge seems like it is cutting into the plastic caps; Must make sure the cap is very tight to keep from leaking (more on this later); It's glass and will shatter if dropped;I learned the hard way, if the cap isn't on the bottle really tight, it will leak and get everywhere.Overall, these things are great. I can fill all of them up with tea and put in the fridge for the week. Easy to clean out and I throw mine in the dishwasher. Not sure if they are dishwasher safe or not but they do all right. Just make sure you check the caps for the seals or you will get a surprise next time you fill up your bottle.

Difficulty cleaning bottom
So difficult to clean the bottom of the bottles even with a bottle brush. There's tiny ridges that make it difficult to clean, especially if you've put homemade juice in there.

I'm going to find a way to post a picture of the ACTUAL bottle you would receive.
They are glass bottles and I guess if you aren't picky than they are great. From the second that I opened the box I noticed that the tops of the caps were dusty as if they had been sitting on a shelf for a while. Then I pulled one out, the bottles are dirty. Not with dirt but it looks like they have been previously used and they drip-dried, there are water spots all over all 6 of them. Weirds me out, I intend on drinking out of these and to receive them with spots on them is a turn off.My other complaint would have to be the HUGE "Austin Springs Clear. Refreshing. Pure." logo that spans across the front of the bottle from top to bottom. From the picture and description of the bottles I had no clue that that would have been there. Not to mention that the logo on one of the bottles is majorly messed up.The bottles are ALMOST 8" tall (little more than 7 3/4") & 2 1/2" wide. The opening in which you would drink out of is 1 1/8" wide.I'm seriously considering returning them -- Need to check the return policy because I do not want to pay shipping back. I'm not pleased with what I got, dirty bottles from China and one of them with a huge messed up logo on it.

Buy Empty Bottles
I go to my local farmer's market on the weekend and buy fresh juice in 16-ounce American-made glass bottles that are probably at least as good as these. After I have enjoyed a wonderful organic juice product, their labels come right off and I have a beautiful glass bottle that is totally reusable. The juice WITH the bottle cost less than these empty ones. "But it says Austin. Austin is cool." What about air. Could they sell the air inside as a bonus? What if they called it "Bel-Air"? Would ya' buy that, little sheep? Come on! I mean, come on!!

Exactly what I wanted!
The bottles all arrived in one piece and are exactly what I wanted. I started juicing frutis and veggies a little while ago and needed these to take my juice to work. I haven't experienced any leaking and I put the bottles into the dishwasher. I don't put the caps in - I hand wash those only because I've had bottles in the past where the dishwasher ruined the seal - not saying it would happen with these, but I like to be safe rather than sorry.

Good home-use bottles for water.
These 18 oz bottles are great to replace plastic water bottles. These can go through the dishwasher (lids as well) and we use them every day at the dining table, our office, and elsewhere in the house. We expect them to hold up for a very long time. Filtered water tastes great out of these bottles and they look OK on the table. It is convenient to keep them pre-filled and cold in the fridge. The only slight negative I can think of (besides the feel of the threaded top in my mouth) is the large-print branded label along the side "Austin Springs - Clear Refreshing Pure" which is kind of weird to advertise as these are sold empty, filled by the customer, and with whatever they choose. Anyway, best we've found so far and no worries about plastics and carcinogens. Heavy, fragile, and not the thing for pockets or to pack on hikes, but great for home use.

Skip these
Plastic piece inside cap falls out easily and without it the bottle leaks.
