This is the ideal trash and recycling solution for a small household. It holds about 1–2 days’ worth of waste for my family, which is just right. The lid opens and closes smoothly, and it does an excellent job containing odors—there’s no smell unless the lid is open. It comes with two 8-gallon bins inside, plus a starter pack of 20 8-gallon bags, which was a nice bonus. The bins are easy to lift out when it’s time to change the liners. I especially appreciate the clever little hole inside that lets you tuck in excess bag material—perfect if you’re using slightly larger liners. Just twist and tuck, and the bag stays securely in place. The only downside was that it arrived with a small dent on one side, despite being well-packaged. Thankfully, it’s on the side facing the wall, so it’s not a dealbreaker for me. Overall, this trash/recycle can is sleek, functional, and thoughtfully designed. Highly recommend!

This trashcan, recycling duo is awesome. I love how big the trashcan part of it is, it holds so much. I purchase size 13 gallon trash bags for the trash and just leave the recycling bin as is. The trashcan appearance is very sleek and matches the kitchen well. It’s nice to have the step to open the can instead of opening it with dirty hands. I have been using this for 5 months now and is holding up well.

Love the garbage can! The metal design is nice and very easy to clean. It is nice having both garbage and recycle in the same container. The charcoal inserts they have for the lid of the garbage can do a great job absorbing the smell. I have several little kids and it has lasted well through their abuse. Highly recommend. I was tired of using the old cheap plastic garbage cans. This was a great improvement.

This is absolutely the exact same can that is sold as the Rubbermaid Dual Stream Step-on. I know, because I replaced that Rubbermaid model with this one after the lid broke. So, I can tell you that the can is mostly good - the trash side bin is big enough, and the recycling side is acceptable, but could be better. The downside is going to be the same issue that plagues the Rubbermaid (as it's clearly the same model): the lid will eventually snap and break. There is a LOT of stress put on the plastic around the screw holes that hold the lid on. Over time, that plastic weakens and it snaps. It took nearly 3 years for the Rubbermaid to break, so I'm hoping this one lasts at least that long. I limped it along an extra month by JB Welding the cracked portions and reinforcing it with an old credit card, but it eventually failed again, necessitating it's replacement. I picked the "EKO" brand because it was half the price, and I thought from the pictures that it looked remarkably similar. That hunch was correct. You can even compare the plastic extruding marks between the two and they are the same. The Rubbermaid doesn't have the spot for the charcoal filter, but you can see in the plastic an outline where that part can be molded into the lid. The bins are the same, just different colors. Same holes in the bins to hold the bags, same metal handle on the recycling side. So, if you want the RM one, you might as well just buy this one and save the money.

Really pleased with this, it shipped well, arrived with no dents. Like that it has the removable compartments for recycle and trash. Also like that the step function works well and keeps everything sealed and protected from a low dog's (Basset Hound) height. I was apprehensive since it was a lil higher in price than other comparable bins.

I spent days comparing bins' size, design, price and sturdiness reading online reviews in an effort to find a well constructed and adequately large dual trash bin for my kitchen. This one was rated highly. Now that I've received it I agree with the favorable reviews. When closed, this unit will keep my tall dog's snout out of the garbage and should he be quick enough to put his snout in when the lid is raised the slow closing lid will not harm him. The design is unobtrusive and matches my stainless steel appliances. I am delighted to have found a better option for handling trash duty. No more wasted time, separating paper, plastic and trash or the messy hands that went with it. I'm very happy with the dual pedal design for opening the lidsas opposed to the motion detector versions. Not having to replace batteries is a great plus for me. I purchased the magnetic labels that are seen in the photo separately along with 'M' size bags that fit 35 to 40L bins and 9.3 to 10.6 gallon bins. They are a perfect fit.

I would have given this item a 5 star review if they had listed the size of trash can liners needed for this in the description. I thought 13 gallon bags would be a bit large but fine. Better too big than too small, right? NOT. The regular size tall kitchen bags won't work. Not even close! You need to order the F-1, 8 gallon, bags from EKO, which you can get on Amazon. Aside from that, this trash can has elevated the functionality of my kitchen. It fits perfectly on one end of my stove island. It's perfect. It's well made and I love it. I was concerned the bags would be too expensive, but that was not the case. They are very comparatively priced and I will get them autoshipped from Amazon, so I never run out.
