I have to admit I can't do even one full dip, but the step lets me practice using as much body weight as I can handle as I build toward a full exercise. It's so nice looking I have it in dining room on way to family room where I can't avoid it and get a practice w/o going outta my way. One included part says it all - a tiny bottle of touchup paint - but only for the metallic members, no black for socket wrench scars on washers, etc. - still, they're catering to the pride of ownership user. Well, the workmanship is very good - making assembly easy. Hint: when you're done if the bar rocks in a new location, ease off a cross-member bolt - the bar will settle on the new surface, so tighten and go. One nit: the rubber escutcheon affixed to the cross member isn't straight - will ask Body Solid how to straighten it . . .

I like it very much but the grip handles are too thick for small hands. I’m thinking of removing rubber and placing grip tape to make it thinner. But it’s very solid and easy to assemble.

Purchased this item off Amazon as an addition to my home gym that i've been piecing together for years. This was one of the few items that I did not have, so I did my research and came to amazon. Having owned Body Solid equiptment in the past, I know their quality is top-notch. This dip-station is no different. It is a high-end piece of workout equipment, gym quality. Hands down the one of the best dip bars i've ever utilized in my life. It arrived quickly and was packaged very well. Setup was quick and easy, which included only a few nuts/bolts and sticking some grip tape in a few places. The foam grips are very comfortable, gentle on the hands, but provide enough friction for a sure grip. I'm very happy with the height of this product, as it makes it a breeze for even tall people with a weight belt to get full extension. For the price/quality, you can't beat it. Fitness equiptment stores in this area don't even sell used ones for this price. Thanks amazon, this thing is NICE!!!!

I ordered this product online and received it in less than 5 days. It is heavy and very well contructed. Assembly required about 20 minutes to complete myself with 2 adjustable wrenches. The black and white exploded diagram is sufficient and it is straightforward. The station is designed to have an outward flaring direction for the handles which is widest toward the back. This allows adjustment of grip to accomodate pectoral emphasis with wide grip or tricep emphasis with a narrow grip. The handles are covered with a dense foam rubber which makes the grip comfortable, unlike some bare metal or knurled surfaces which can potentially tear skin when using additional weight. The welding is complete and well finished, with no rough edges or burrs. The device is reported to accomodate up to 500 pounds, and this claim is believable given the rugged contstruction. The station does not rock or buckle, even when doing rapid repetitions with added weight. It is a commercial gym quality piece at a fairly reasonable price. I definitely would purchase again!

As always, I was very happy with the ease of purchase from Amazon.com. Package arrived sooner than I thought it would. I love the way Amazon emails you the tracking link so you can track your package. I ordered 4 different types of exercise equipment and they all arrived as promised. On with the review of the Body Solid Dip Station. Overall, this thing could withstand a nuclear bomb. It is very SOLID and cold easily be used in a prfessional gym. This unit was very east to assemble and only took about 15 minutes. I love the diameter of the rails and the fact they are angled so you can work different parts of the body based upon how far apart you set your grip. It has really cool plastic molded pieces on the base unit to help establish nice stability on carpet. The rails of the stations sit higher than most of dip stations, but they provide you with grip tape that can be put on the cross bar. I would recommend a small step ladder to help the used use their legs until they can get in shape to perform unassisted dips. As mentioned, assembley was was quick and pretty easy. It would have been nice if there were some general assemble instructions to assist. I have purchsed several types of exercise equipment online and the majority if the time you are only provided with ine washer for each nut/bolt assembly,you put the washer on bolt priot yo installing through assembly holes. On this unit, you net to put the washer on the end where the nut screws onto the bolt. I didn't do so and noticed the tubes of the arm rails bowed in a little even though I did not really torque it that tight when assembleming. Not a big deal because this thing is very well built and durable and should effect the structual support over the long run. On a disapointing not, I was very let down to see how many cosmetic issues this arrived with right out of the box. I have a few other Body Solid pieces of equipment and never experienced this before. They do give you some touch-up paint. but I would not expect to have to use right out of the box. This station had a lot of runs and wulaity issues with the paint. Nothing that would impact performance, but I expected better. The packing was top notch, so I suspect they have some quality issues during the fabrication process. Overall this is one of the best dip stations I have used. I do a lot of research and went to several "brick and mortar" establishments and this unit tops them all. Very solid and stable when doing dips, doesn't take up a lot of space and should last a long time. I would easliy give it 5 stars except for thepaint quality and scratches right out of the box.

I purchased this back in September 2011... I wasn't keen on leaving reviews back then. It is now October 2024, and the dip station stands as one of my most sensible purchases!! Sturdy, and not a space-taker. Versatile as well. Try some core exercises like leg raises as well!!

It's ok, not as sturdy as they say. Sturdiness will improve if you put on a Mat, vs bare floor. I do like the height and feet placement. But when doing some calisthenic moves, I do feel like the bards can push outward. Definitely would be better if thicker gauge steel or welded. For the price, I definitely would have looked at something else. Not as sturdy as expected for paying a premium. I am 174 lb guy.

This is a quality piece of equipment! You will find much cheaper Dip Stations than this but they will be nowhere near the quality of this one. The design and build quality are top notch. It is easy to put together and built to last. If you look at all the components, you can see that they are made from high quality materials and the welding is of a high standard. It is as solid as a rock when in use. From a cosmetic point of view, the finish is excellent. The only minor point to mention is the round end caps that do not go in easily and you have to be careful not to break them with too much force. Be aware of the height of this because your head may be close to your ceiling when dipping. I have standard height ceilings and I am 6' 1" my head is a couple of inches from my ceiling which is fine. The price tag is slightly high but you get what you pay for and I think that this is worth the extra money.

I bought this dip station in April 2019, so I have used it for over 5 years now. This thing is indestructible, really stable and easy to transport due to its small weight! I weigh between 100-110kg which is about 220- 240 pounds and did dips on it up to 60kg (130 lbs) extra weight with no sign of instability. It just feels like it's made to last a lifetime, I guess even my grandkids will workout on this one. Bottom line: Worth its money, made to last forever, I would buy it again.
