Ah, my Lord DIO on a cover <3 As soon as I saw this I just knew I had to have it. Since it was book three (and I always buy #1 of any series I like) I decided to just get all three. Three is better for my shelves after all! The art style is 80s, but that's when it came out! The cover features the characters in the newer art style (approx part 6 - 7 art style) and now he looks more like Diego (DIO from part 7 / alternate universe) which is cool since he is Diego, but unsettling because its weird to imagine Diego looking like the original Dio and riding a horse while sporting a dinosaur tail. (Oh yeah, it gets WEIRD in part 7). Phantom Blood is the most normal of all the parts. Its the hook that reels you in. It sets the basic story (and introduces the glorious majestic DIO). You meet all the characters and get to know the families (because you'll be following their descendants throughout the other parts). There are so many wonderful parts where you see how deep these characters are (i.e. DIO is a villain, but even he doesn't really like abusing women that much since his dad was an abusive drinker) and just how much good stuff goes into this manga. As always, the Zeppelis are a great part (but DIO is best) These are the roots of the JJBA fandom. Never forget your roots. Never forget where they started, where they came from. If you have to buy one part of JJBA, and only one, I really think this is the one. Just because its the beginning of everything.

My son acted a mess and was sent to military school for the semester. He cant have any electronics but can have as many books and art supplies etc as he wants. He is obsessed with this series and another. So I ordered him this one to send to school as a you made it through the first few weeks. He devoured it and can't wait for the next one. The hardbacks are his fav I just wish they were a tad bit cheaper but tis the price of hardcovers.

HEAR IT IS THE LAST PART OF GENERATION 1 OF JOJO'S BIZARRE ADVENTURE!!!! from 1986 proves that manga is the king of the comic world!!!!! if this came out hear during that time it would of started a controversy forget superman dieing and quickly coming back to life for no reason( death losses all meaning that way) this is the end of a good story of the jojo universe with a ending that proves that proves that if a story is timeless then why do you reboot it? (trying not to spoil anyting) reboots are rare in the manga and anime world and this wont be getting one soon....but wont be surprised if it dos....i hope not lol if you what a good story with a character that's not all powerful like u.s super heros than this is a good start in to the manga world and the story continues in gen 2 serialization

If you are a fan of JOJO's or just getting into the series like me, then you have come to the right place. Part 1, in which I have completed, has beautif shiny bits that make the hard cover even more enjoyable. Even so, the price comparison to other places who are also selling this series, in my opinion, this is the best. I just love hard covers 100% more. Even with the inside, some of the first few pages are collored and just so pretty. Again, they are glorious pieces for a manga collection.

I initially started with the anime and wanted the book just so I can read it on the go. I love these books and will most likely by the rest of the series
