To my relief, no body parts were harmed for this review
I've tried a number of shavers for the groin area and the results were usually burning irritation and some blood involved. I was even surprised that one brand, which showed the unit in the commercial being stroked across a balloon without popping, but I was left with some razor burn and some blood when I used it. No bueno. I wasn't about to bite the bullet and buy a shaver that cost north of 30 dollars thinking it would do a better job. I think a shaver at that price is ridiculous. So I picked this Bodygroom shaver based on the positive reviews with a bit of skeptical hope. This unit arrived very quickly and I put the unit to use the very same day. I thought I'd give it a try first on my underarms since it wasn't as sensitive as my groin area albeit still a challenge because the area has wrinkly ridges so I would get nicked in the past. I had no issues with the Bodygroomer. It's great that there are blades on both sides of the head. That helped with getting the hairs despite the growth direction. Being satisfied with the results on the underarms without drawing any blood, it was safe enough to try and conquer the groin area. I realized the key to this shaver was the tiny guide comb surrounding the blade. There is the smaller one already installed which can be switched out for the longer comb if you just need a trim and prefer to leave some length. The comb with the tiny teeth goes close enough to shave the hairs off and prevents the blades from mangling you down there. The result is a "close enough" shave, but not smooth as a blade. I also like that this shaver is shaped like your regular analog blade so it can be manipulated and maneuvered easily. I loved knowing I didn't have to be too gentle for risk of getting cut. I was able to get right in there. I'll be honest and admit that I wanted a trimmer that could be used beyond the family jewels. For the first time in my life I was able to tackle that area, including around the *ahem* rear chute. I feel cleaner, happier now. Finally, a mangroomer that can take care of the groin area and then some. I am more than satisfied with this shaver. Worth every penny. I do have to mention that when I was using the trimmer, the guide popped off a couple of times because I might have been pressing to hard, so I thought I'd mention that. I don't know if this will cause an annoyance down the line, but I can't get over that this shaver handled the job right up to the backside and even though it wasn't the closest shave like a blade, it was definitely close enough without any mangling or decapitation. I still have to tested it in the shower on the area that was getting longer with the additional comb attachment and the process was so easy because the cleanup went straight to the drain and the blade rinsing was right at the spigot before I turned the water off. So good, I'm considering purchasing a backup unit. I don't know how some people still got nicks, even when following directions because I was going at it full mower mode. Safest product I tried for groin trimming.

Great Clean Shave… and the wife likes it too.
Once I got started I really didn’t know where to stop. Ended up doing a whole body shave pits to toes Tiny little close to the skin stubbles but way lots better than chemical burns or ingrown hairs. Like mowing the yard you may have to come at the hair from different directions. Just take your time, use a light pressure and don’t rush it. Work very well if the hair is less than a quarter inch to begin with. There was a learning curve and the first shave took about a half hour. I did a whole body touch up the next morning in about ten minutes to pick up the stragglers. The wife liked the look and feel so much that I’m shaving every two to three days now. With the regularity the full body shave takes less than fifteen minutes and any spots I may miss are caught on the next shave. I get five to six shaves on one battery before I notice the slowing of the motor and I change to a new battery before it may affect the quality of the shave. All in all it’s easy to use and easy to keep clean. We are both really happy with the product and most of all the wonderful results. I would suggest you get the PFB Roll-on for your manly underparts after you shave. Absolutely no ingrown hairs after three months of shaving. Enjoy Yourself… UPDATE!! We liked the sharpness, ease and clean shaven results from this shaver so much we bought a second one to keep on the shelf incase they become unavailable later in the future. For the price it is well worth it as a sort of insurance that I can keep my body smooth, clean shaven, and well groomed for my wife’s (and my) pleasure… Thanks…

Solid choice, but there are better out there.
One battery is all it needs, twist off the bottom, put it in, back together, and you're good to go. Simply slide up the gray area to power it on. I found it very easy to use, and no complaints with the placement of the power control. I nicked my tender area once out of my 5 years of use, and I believe it was because the battery was dying. Its efficient, and painless. No skin irritation. It's kind of loud. My only complaint is that I can't find a replacement head. It seems to be built to last, but I didn't make an effort to maintain it, and I stupidly tried to shave my armpits with deoderant on them. The other parts seem to be working, just the head that's messed up and that's my fault. I also lost the guard years ago and that was useful, because I don't like to be bare lol, so it'd be nice to find that separately. Because of the price, I am going to recommend that you go with the OneBlade, because that does come with attachments to groom your body, and its easy to find replacement heads. Like 20ish extra dollars and its superior in my opinion. If you already have a great face razor and want something simple, cheap, and long lasting, this is a solid choice.

A "manscaper's" reliable tool!
I have been 'manscaping' well before it was as common as it is now... in fact, I remember when I kind of kept it a 'secret' as it was such an uncommon practice by most other men. I have had my fair share of groomers, even using female-oriented bikini clippers, with mostly painful results. The 'Philips Norelco Bodygroom Series 1100' has easily been the best of the bunch and most likely will be the last groomer that I will ever need. Easy to use and clean, and no nicks -- yes, guys, we're even talking about along 'the seam' (if you catch my drift!). And really, that's what it comes down to when reviewing a body groomer: if can it trim the most sensitive areas of the nether-regions without nicks, cuts, or discomfort. I feel so safe and comfortable using this groomer that I can really go-to-town down-under without the fear that my other half-dozen trimmers would instill. I have had this unit for several months now and still haven't had a need to change the batteries. The only complaint that I have is that the larger safety-guard/guide broke easily while stored in my toiletry bag (it would be nice to be able to purchase replacement guides); however, that is more on me not properly storing the attachment. Besides, it's the micro-guide attachment that I mostly use anyway, which has survived much traveling inside the same toiletry bag. A 'must-buy' for anyone searching for a body groomer, especially those concerned about keeping their 'sensitive areas' safe and un-nicked. Of all the trimmers that I have used before, the 'Philips Norelco Bodygroom Series 1100' is the only one that I would highly recommend. Update 4/2022: Still going strong! Blades still effective, though finally noticing needing more swipes lately; however, still no discomfort and gets the job done. I'm using this even more nowadays, so the fact that my body groomer is still reliable 4 years later is awesome!

Okay product
Lightweight and works as described. The attachments are not quality made, mine cracked after a month. Don’t expect this razor will last more than a few months.

Surprising Performance For Shaving Body Hair!
I had low expectations because of how cheap it was, but I figured that it was worth giving it a shot since I didn't have much to lose. I wanted something for body hair since I've had bad (borderline traumatic) experiences with other shavers/trimmers when using it "south of the equator." Wow, I was totally surprised. Not only did it work great, but after 2 years of using it, I'm happy to say that I've NEVER gotten a nick or cut while using it. I've also tried it to shave my face, and had the same great results. While some may not like that it doesn't have a built-in rechargeable battery, this is actually great since you can easily replace the AA with a fresh one. That takes away the worry about buying a whole new trimmer just because of a bad battery that won't charge anymore. Aside from standard alkaline batteries, this trimmer will also work with Ni-MH batteries if you insist on using something rechargeable. It's also 100% waterproof, so you can use this in the shower or rinse it in your sink. The only negative I've encountered is that you will find yourself frequently having to remove the comb to clean out the hair. Thankfully, a mini brush is included to make cleaning easier. All in all, this is a great trimmer and shaver for your face or body. It's seriously the best $20 I've ever spent!

Here's what you really need to know
DON'T PASS THIS REVIEW. THIS IS WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW! I got this product two months ago. It was easy to set up and start using. I got it for my groin area as my gf prefers that area well kept. Initially, the product worked reasonably well. It comes with a cover to protect your nether region and the cover by and large works (on occasion it caught hair funny, but was perfectly okay on any portion of my groin area). You can remove the cover for a closer trim and you are still relatively safe, but I felt better with the cover on. Razor is easy to clean as the cover pops right off. It does take a while going over the same areas repeatedly to get it to work. It is a 15-20 minute process going over and over to continue trimming to get it down. You really have to hold it just right (correct angle) to get it to work at all. Sounds good so far, right? A razor you can easily and safely use? So why the 1-star review, you ask? It's a piece of junk. I only used the razor twice and it stopped working. The warranty for replacement is 45 days, so at just under 60 it won't turn on. I tried brand new batteries and nothing. It had been sitting in a drawer, so it wasn't damaged. Had new batteries. Stopped working after 2 uses and conveniently right after the warranty/return policy ended. These guys know their product. They know that it works (albiet slowly). They also know exactly HOW LONG it will work and then stop working so you buy another. THIS PRODUCT IS A $20 DISPOSABLE RAZOR. Every 2 months you will have to buy another. At that rate, just get a $120 razor that works faster, has more options, a longer warranty, and is built to last. If you read enough reviews, you'll find lots of them that barely made it past the 45 day return policy and died. Maybe you've got a situation where you are going to start dating someone who likes a man "fully groomed" and you aren't sure it will last, so you want a cheap razor that can kind of get the job done for a month or so. If so, this the razor for you. For everyone else that wants a razor they don't have to replace every other month, find yourself something else a little nicer and more permanent.
