Rightline Gear Replacement Car Roof Clips for Attaching Rooftop Cargo Carriers Without A Roof Rack

These worked great on our Ford Taurus, peeled down a small area of the upper weatherstrip inside each door and hooked the clips over the exposed metal lip underneath. This should be similar to most other vehicle installations and provided solid anchor points on a cross country trip. The straps held securely and kept the bag firmly in place. I would also strongly recommend using the non skid roof pad with your installation.

These buckles were recommended with the rooftop bag we purchased (Car Roof Bag - 100% Waterproof Roof Top Cargo Bag No Rack Needed + Non Slip Roof Mat & Storage bag, For Any Car Van or SUV (15 Cubic Feet)). The straps that came with the bag were slightly larger than the hole in the clips. But i was able to slide the straps through and still use them. The one issue that I had with the clips was that it rained on our trip and the water was able to leak through where the clips were. This may have been due to the straps not fitting right (which are going to be replaced). Other than that the clips worked great on keeping the cargo bag in place on the car on everything from dirt road driving to freeway speeds.

Nice thick works well for a replacement for universal roof racks. Fits nicely on my 2005 dodge neon. Fits 1 inch straps as well so could be used to hold the cargo bags/cargo carriers.

It does not fit well on a Honda Civic 2010, both the length and the curvature of the clips are marginal for this kind of car. I had to modify the clips to "somewhat" improve the overall attachment. Both the metal and the plastic overcoat of the clips are of good quality.

My old kayak tie down straps are now being used to help stabilize the sway of my hitch mount bike carrier. The electric bikes are a bit heavier and tend to rock a little. My straps with these trunk tie down clips have solved the problem.

Just what I was looking for. Quite pleased.

Too small. They did not fit right in my 2013 Honda Pilot. Once tight and the doors are closed it works fine. If I'd open a door with them attached they fall off and need to be re tightened. I ended up just running the ties inside the car to the other side. They worked just fine this way.

We purchased the soft car topper and clips for use on our 2008 Hyundai Accent sedan and 2007 Honda Civic (2 door). It is awesome! Fits on both cars and clips work for both cars, too. We went camping this weekend and I likely placed about 150lbs worth of camping gear in there, including a cooler, a Rubbermaid container, camp stove, water jugs, propane cylinders, blankets, air mattresses, tent, and dining tent. Could have jammed even more in there! I purposely drove the car for 20min at 120km/hr. The soft car topper didn't move an inch, nothing shifted in the bag, and the straps/clips stayed in place. Our trip was 2hrs each way and the bag still looks brand new. Highly recommend! The bag is well built, the zippers are heavy-duty, as are the straps and clips. Well worth the additional investment for the frame clips that fit in your door window instead of strapping it through the car IF you do not have a roof rack.

Logré ir a más de 150 km/h y en promedio estuve a 120 km/h por más de 4 horas sin problemas.

Bought these clips so I could make a homemade roof rack to carry my canoe and kayak on my car, surprised how thick the metal was, it has a very good outside, coating that makes it scratch resistant. Great product
