These things are great and well worth $25 if you are a "do it yourselfer". This is the second one I bought, because the first is in another state. The beeper will find freon, even on R1234yf, as I tested it with the can. It found the leak on my R134 on my Toyota last year. And, using the blacklight, just found the leak on my GMC Sierra, which comes precharged with fluorescent dye. (below) Didn't expect much for the cost, but they really work.

This is a must have as part of finding that pasty leak in your A/C system. I use this along with the dye I put in the system to detect leaks. You need to practice to learn how to use it. Once you master it finding leaks will be a snap. I use this with dye and special glasses. I can usually find a leak within 5 minutes. The volume of the beeping is very loud so you can clearly hear it over a car running. Works on home Air conditioning as well. Would recommend. The directions are straight forward. The sensitivity can be adjusted so you don't get a false reading.
