Great for Husbands Who Have Refused to Wear Sunscreen
I bought this for my husband who, after a skin cancer scare, finally agreed to wear sunscreen as long as, in his words, wasn't greasy and didn't make him smell like a pina colada on a Cancun beach. He uses other Jack Black products so I thought he'd be OK with this. He declared it perfect for him and he's actually using it every day. There's no white residue after applying it, it's not greasy at all, and has a light and clean fresh scent.

Great moisturizing sunscreen for face. No eye sting!
FAVE sunscreen for face, neck and chest. No white cast either. I use it in the morning as a moisturizer, no need for extra layering. In hot humid weather it doesn’t sting my eyes while working out at gym.

Reliable Sun Defense That Lasts—Almost Perfect
The Jack Black Oil-Free Sun Guard SPF 45 delivers exactly what you want from a sunscreen: strong protection, a clean feel, and long-lasting coverage. I really like that it doesn’t leave a greasy layer or that heavy “sunscreen film” on the skin. It absorbs quickly and stays put—even through sweat and activity—making it a great choice for outdoor workouts or long sunny days. ✅ What Stands Out: Oil-free, lightweight, and no white cast Sweat-resistant and long-lasting for active use Doesn’t clog pores—great for sensitive or acne-prone skin Compact and travel-friendly tube ⚠️ Minor Drawbacks: The texture is a bit thick during application Price could be more competitive for the amount you get 💰 Value for Money: Good—premium feel with dependable results, just a touch pricey. If you want strong SPF protection without shine or stickiness, this is a winner. With a smoother application and slightly better pricing, it would be a full 5-star product.

Doesn't run, doesn't drip, doesn't smell, and provides great sun protection
I've got somewhat fair skin and am concerned about sun protection because my grandfather had skin cancer. Also, at my age I want to do whatever it takes to take care of myself to stay healthy. I'm one of those who absolutely dislikes putting creams and such on my face because I don't like to have a greasy feeling. I've tried a very large number of other sunscreens in my lifetime and I've never liked them because they dripped, left my skin feeling oily, stung my eyes when I started sweating, and left my hands greasy and stinky too after I applied them. This Jack Black SPF 45 sunscreen is the complete opposite of what I've experienced all of my life. Wow. Didn't think it was possible to protect your face from the harsh sun while still staying comfortable. I used it on a two-week trip to sunny, humid, and hot Puerto Vallarta, Mexico. I was surprised that I never had this run into my eyes and cause them to sting. I was well protected the whole time. I think I came back just a little more "tan" than before I left, but that's good I suppose. This sunscreen protected me from burning and turning red, and my skin never got to the point where I started to peel. I always felt "normal" on my skin in that my skin didn't smell or feel funny nor slick or greasy because of the product. It immediately absorbed into the skin and stayed there without running. I tried a little experiment this morning just before I want outside in the hot Arizona heat to work in the yard for a couple of hours: I first applied Jack Black Double-Duty Moisturizer on my face, and then I immediately lathered on a thick smear of this Jack Black SPF 45 Sunscreen on top of that just to see how things turned out. And to further add to the drama, I purposefully didn't wash my hands after applying these on my face, ears, back of my neck, etc. Guess what: went on smoothly. Again, no sting in my eyes despite my heavy sweating. And my hands were perfectly dry and not greasy immediately after putting this on. I just rubbed them together for a few seconds and the mildly thick liquid sunscreen just seemingly disappeared into the palms of my hands. It's a definite addition to my routine. I'll be putting this on on top of my daily moisturizer when I plan on being in the sun extensively. A little goes a long way, so it'll last and is worth the slight premium in price vs. generic/mainstream sunscreens you can buy in the store.

Very Good Sunscreen
Pros: - Moisturizing - Vegan and cruelty free - Fragrance free so less chance of skin irritation - Protection from both UVA and UVB rays - I like getting an SPF at or above 30 so 45 is good :) - Although it has zinc oxide and goes on a little white, the white cast fades away well enough, I do have pale skin though so I don't know how it looks on darker skin tones. Slight cons - Somewhat pricey. There are certainly pricier sunscreens out there though - In the USA, we have no system for saying just how good the UVA ray protection is. We have SPF, which basically tells us how good the UVB ray protection is. Other countries have systems to tell us more about how good the UVA protection is, but obviously this sunscreen is American. Therefore, it's not clear just how good the UVA protection is, but it definitely does provide some UVA protection because of the zinc oxide.

Great sunblock, doesn't feel greasy, less likely to get in eyes and burn
Great sunblock, doesn't feel greasy - even on teenagers. When my daughter started track, we tried many different brands of sunscreens and this is by far our favorite. It doesn't feel greasy, nor is it drying, and works with both teenage combination skin and mature dry skin. The biggest problem with sunscreens is when you sweat they run into the eyes and burn. This one is much less likely to run into the eyes (rubs in and soaks in well), although if it does get into the eyes it will sting. We've now purchased 3 tubes of this one and use it for sport and water use (kayaking & swimming).

"Fragrance - Free" does not equal "Unscented".
Pro's: Legit sunscreen. Not oily. Absorbs quickly. No white film/flakiness. Con's: It does have a sunscreen-type scent. If you were to close your eyes and smell your skin in a blind smell test? You'd immediately think "sunscreen". The scent is more chemical, not coconut or fruit-like. It's also a very faint scent, but if you're like me and only use aftershave balm to smell good, it does get in the way of the aftershave fragrance if, like my wife, someone is close enough to you to lay their chin on your neck.
