i bought several brands and returned all but one. after years of haphazard treatment these lights have never failed once in 11 years!

(Sorry the pics are sideways) They are very delicate to handle-- pretty much two ultra fine wires connected by tiny LEDs. I assume it's fragile to unravelling and repositioning because one small snap of the ultra thin wire will stop flow. With awesome light weight and blendability comes fragility, I guess. I love these lights so far. I thought the USB port was faulty, but I didn't fully plug it in. The video is the "fade" option, and I think I got the full spectrum of colors in that the lights provide. I agree with other reviewers that the white option is actually a light blue. I included a close up of the light and wire in my hand. Pictured are my favorite of the colors. Overall, I recommend these lights if you have the patience to deal with delicate wires. I have not tested the battery life, so I can't give an opion on that. The colors are great, and the remote works. I'll have to trial and error some of the functions ("assign fade", "assign jump"... self explanatory, but the amount of colors in each, and how to then "enter" it are unclear to me in the instructions). Can even be placed with bits of clear tape for maximum camiflouge.

I like how easy it is to use these lights, even gently bending the wires to fit on a small branch causes no issues. I've hooked one string up to a very cheap power charger and it works beautifully, lights stay on for about 10 hours. The other string operates on 3 AA batteries, and doesn't seem to use much electricity--have only changed those out once in 2 wks of shining the lights for 8-10 hrs/night. Now, the remotes don't work well and will not turn the lights on or off, but will let me change them from steady to fading multi-colors, so the remote is the only flaw I find with these. (I got my first string on Cyber Monday, so paid about $5 less than for the second string--I waited to see how the first lights worked before buying a second string--next time I buy from this company, I'll buy both when they're on sale--and return them if I don't like them, instead of waiting--I just don't like to return unless it's absolutely necessary.)

Large amount of choices of lighting effects to select from. When the batteries are fresh the lights are pretty bright for the size of the leds but as the batteries gets used up the lights get pretty dim. On its timed function, batteries lasted maybe three days before it got noticeably dimmer. Otherwise great lights for the price. Just make sure you have a supply of batteries on hand.

FOR INDOOR USE ONLY Lights were very bright and remote worked well. At least they worked until it rained. The battery box as noted is not waterproof, and after a rainstorm the electronics inside got wet and the lights were essentially inoperable with the remote and only operated 1 color at a time. Now need to take batteries in/out to start/stop. A little cover for the USB port would have likely saved them. Also note, when they did work they went through the batteries quickly.

I use these on my tree instead of the ones that came pre lit or attached so I don't need a plug. You can light them any shade, not just color, twinkle, blink, solid, random per color or it can go through the colors. I've used the same set for Halloween, Christmas, spring, Valentines day. They're durable, the remote is awesome as a feature and the batteries (3 aa) last quite a while. Also they're pretty long. 1 set covered my 5' tree. Great product!

These lights exceeded my expectations. They are very bright, have many different color options, and are the perfect length for a fireplace mantle. The ability to power with USB cord is a definite plus, eliminating the need for batteries if you choose. I use the USB cord with a portable battery pack and it works great! The remote needs to be fairly close to the lights to work, but that is not a problem. I would definitely purchase these again.

I recently did a makeover to my room and decided that I wanted to put up fairy lights. I found these lights and thought they were perfect. I purchased them on MAY 10th, they arrived MAY 15th. I hung them up, put the batteries in and enjoyed my lights. The next day the batteries were dead, lights were not as bright. I changed batteries and the lights were okay for that day. KEEP IN MIND; i only turn these lights on at night for 1-2hours before I go to sleep. A few days later i noticed the same thing, lights were very dim, you cannot see PINKS BLUES PURPLES WHITE even during the transition options (FADE, JUMP) the only colors visible was YELLOW RED GREEN. I changed said batteries again and the lights were fine but only for a few hours. I changed them one final time and the lights have not improved at all since I changed them. I never usually write reviews like this but it is ridiculous that I have changed these batteries 3 times and I have not had it for a full week. Im not sure if batteries need to be changed everyday but if so that should be mentioned in the package or description.
