Sandalwood Deoderant Stick, 2.5-Ounce, 07186

This stuff lasts a long time. Yes, its spendy for pit stick but I bought my last one on August 31st and it is still going. (As of this writing Feb. 28th) I think I can probably get another month or so of everyday use. I have never owned a deodorant that lasted 6+ months so I will pay 13 more dollars for the next one too. Note that it is not a “pure” Sandalwood fragrance but is a fragrance blend that works for me.

Great deodorant, fantastic scent, fast delivery, and very satisfied customer

This is another fine product from one of the world's best purveyors to discriminating gentlemen everywhere. Don't expect to smell like a french whore or bowl people over when you enter a room. It has a subtle, rich, masculine scent which one wears because he likes the scent himself and intends a woman who gets close enough to notice it to like it too. It's an effective deodorant on those warmer days of summer when a working gentleman tends to require one. I have no complaints to offer. If you dont like the price, you probably shouldnt purchase it.

It is advertised wrong, as well, looking at most of the other reviews apparently the illiterate enjoy this deodorant/shave cream stick. Me personally, I went with the add and did not read description, my fault, so I got a great smelling shave stick, not deodorant. I would like Amazon to get the seller to change the description so that it reads correctly.

I absolutely love the smell of this stuff. It's one of the nicer sandalwood scents I've encountered, and it lasts pretty long if you're not sweating too much. That brings me to my second point-- This is absolutely NOT an antiperspirant! I see some reviewers are complaining that it doesn't keep you from sweating, which seems to me like complaining that your conditioner doesn't shampoo your hair very well. It is not marketed as, is not labelled as, and does not work as an antiperspirant. Personally, I've had great success using an unscented antiperspirant at night (Certain-Dri, if you're curious) and then applying this deodorant in the morning. One quick note-- This stuff doesn't cause irritation in general, but it can under specific circumstances. In particular, you want to make sure your pits are totally dry before applying! Even if you don't, I've found that the irritation isn't much worse than some mild itchiness/stinging for about half an hour, but I imagine someone with more sensitive skin could have a more uncomfortable experience. Secondly, while I don't shave my pits, I think it's fair to guess that you also wouldn't want to apply this stuff immediately after shaving either.

There is Sandalwood scent, but it is overpowered by the "mad scientist's laboratory" chemical smell that is far too common in men's deodorants.

A really great deodorant keeps you dry all day

It is now a month and a half since I bought the Taylor deodorant stick. Let me revise my review: the first paragraph is the same as before but the next two are not. The first time I opened the Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood Deodorant Stick, it had a transparent plastic dome over the working end of the stick. I removed it and applied the deodorant after my evening shower. That first application was wonderful: fully aromatic that lasted through the morning. Altogether, what one would expect of a preparation designed for English gentlemen of uncertain toilet. In the first week after being opened, the sandalwood aroma dissipated. This may have something to do with the plastic dome that I was unable to replace: the screw-on cover wouldn't close. Also, the deodorant stick has shrunk and now rattles in its container. In any event, regardless of how much I now apply, little aroma seems to stick to my underarms and what little there is doesn't last very long. What's worse, the stick now is prematurely finished: it certainly contained less than 2.5 oz. of actual deodorant. My mass market Jovan Musk works better and still has some left even after a year. Earlier I said that, sadly, I should not be a repeat purchaser. I have changed my mind. In the meantime I've searched the web for sandalwood deodorant sticks and there seem to be only two: the Taylor and the Geo F. Trumper Sandalwood Deodorant, which is twice as expensive and has had bad reviews. If one wants the sandalwood aroma, there's little choice: the Taylor of Old Bond Street Sandalwood Deodorant Stick is for all practical purposes the only game in town. As I like the scent very much I expect I shall, reluctantly in view of its faults, buy it again. I leave my numerical rating, as before, at 2 because I think the faults are severe.

Angenehmer, dezenter Geruch. Gut hautverträglich.

If you know Taylor of Old Bond Street, and their reputation, you will already know the quality of this product. This is not some run of the mill brand appearring on Amazon. This is pure old school, quality and perfection in a stick. A great scent for any one that wants to smell amazing, and not sweet and floral like a lot of the modern scents, the Sandalwood notes really stand out, and last the day.

Scent is identical to TOBS sandalwood shaving soap/cream. If you like that, you will like this. The scent is quite strong when applied, but not so much after one is dressed. I personally absolutely love this product, and I believe I have found my deodorant for life, or at least a long long time. Recommended for any man who doesn't want to smell like every other Axe/Old Spice wielding yobbo on the street. Other reviewers mention skin problems or stick drying out. I have not experienced either of these problems (and I don't see how one could experience the latter, as the stick has a screw-on top). So, if you have sensitive skin in your under arm area, perhaps give it a pass.... although other deodorants have given me issues before and this one does not, so I wouldn't entirely base your decision on that, especially if you know how the TOBS sandalwood line smells, and you like it.
