Not without flaws
They look good but like other reviews say, they do turn black and do have the potential to crack/explode.After a few popping on their first use, we found that drying them in the oven at a low temperature for a while solved the moisture problem. When shipped, they ended up loose in a large box so who knows how much of the original 20 lbs actually arrived.

Not what I expected
The description of the Lava Rock is a bit misleading when it suggests landscape use. A 20# bag of Porous Lava Rock is approximately 2 cubic feet of material. What I received was barely 1/2 cubic foot of material. Spread out they cover a 20in x 20in square 1 stone deep. They were literally "Stones", with very little porosity. I have no doubt they would work fine for a Fire Pit, but suggesting Landscape use...misleading. I needed Lava Rock for water filtration in a waterfall. Lava Rock for the landscape is generally very light weight and extremely porous. What I have is about 35-40 solid stone paperweights. Perhaps with a little Hot Glue I can find a use for them. Might I suggest using the "Cubic Foot" per bag coverage instead of your LxWxH/20 per pound calculation.

Purchased For Natural Gas Fire Pit Max 883
I converted My Max 883 Propane fire pit to natural gas and upgraded the lava rock to the tumbled lava rock which are much rounder. When they get hot, they look like coals from a camp fire. I believe that they will last longer than the rough lava rock.

Great buy!
We've had these a week, so far, so good. No cracking or popping as I've read with some brands.

Aesthetically nice but not enough rocks
Liked the look but not enough for small firebowl, had to place cheaper lava rock beneath them.

They seem to be good. I have ordered more because one bag wasn’t enough for fire pit
Nothing to dislike
