Polaroid Dive-Rated Waterproof Camera Housing - Protects Virtually Any Ultra Compact "FIXED" Lens Camera

We bought this for our Nikon Coolpix S52 for our recent trip to Jamaica. My husband and I snorkel and wanted to take underwater pics, but didn't want to spend the $$ on unreliable point-and-click 35mm underwater disposable camera and the subsequent cost of having film developed AND the uncertainty of wondering how the pictures come out.We got this a week or so before our vacation and we tested it thoroughly at home using the enclosed piece of tissue paper. We put it in a large bowl of water and put a few cans of tomatoes on top and let it sit there for a few hours. Then, still underwater, we squeezed, poked, prodded, pulled the contraption to make sure it held up underwater.After leaving there overnight with intermittent squeezes and pokes, we opened up the case the next day and the paper was as dry as a bone. Not a bit of condensation inside.We also bought some silica packs to go inside, as several other users seemed to find them useful in these cases, but our camera fit so snugly that the silica packs wouldn't fit.It can be a bit of a bear to snap together...kind of like how a USB plug won't fit this way, or that way, or this way, but suddenly that way works when it didn't work before...same with this case. It wouldn't snap this way, or that way, or this way, and suddenly that way works when it didn't work before. This isn't a big deal, just don't force it closed. If it doesn't work one way, turn either the side slides the other way, or turn the back part upside down.On the downside, and the reason I'm giving it 4 instead of 5 stars is because on the day we were leaving and packing up, the open/close snap on one side broke off, rendering it non-waterproof at that point, and upon returning home we sent it back for a refund.BUT we will be ordering another one. the pictures came out much better than I had expected, and much better than pics we previously took underwater using a disposable 35mm camera.It also took decent photos out of the water, while we were kayaking.Did not use the flash, so don't know how that worked but I would imagine it would reflect back and not work too well.It has a little hole for a wrist strap and we got a polaroid floating wrist strap that ended up breaking on the 2nd day we used it, so maybe don't get that one (see our review)

I've used this case once for snorkeling and it kept water out. I was frustrated purchasing a case because I have not seen interior size specifications for any of the Polaroid Waterproof Housings. This case has an interior size of 9.9cm x 6.4cm x 2.0cm. The case is designed to work with fixed lens that do not protrude from the camera body. I used this case with a Panasonic TS20 (which is waterproof itself but I wanted to be safe) and the width was tight but the camera could be accommodated.

I bought this waterproof case before I went to Cuba vacation. It perfect fix my Nikon camera. I can change any option under water. I took some pictures and video when I was snorkeling. Sometime has fog inside, but work fine. I high recommend this Polaroid product if you don't want to pay too much for waterproof case.
