I wish I could quit you, Chocolate Ripple Protein Shake, but I just can't! (I LOVE THESE!)
(This is a review of just the chocolate flavor, I tried the vanilla and it was ok/good, but the chocolate is where it's at!) Look, friends, I've tried them all -- all the vegan ready-to-drink protein shakes out there, and all the dairy-based ones (I'm not a vegan). THIS IS THE BEST ONE OF ALL TIME! Now, I wish it had a little more protein but 210 calories and 20 grams isn't bad at all. As I see them, here are the pros and cons: We'll get the cons out of the way first! CONS: 1. Sugar is the 3rd ingredient, and it has 9 grams of added sugar per bottle. OF COURSE IT TASTES AMAZING! lol. Even though I keep my sugar per day to under 50 grams of added sugar, I will drink one Ripple protein shake per day, happily. It's worth the sugar content. 2. Sunflower oil is the 4th ingredient. One bottle has 8 grams of fat from the oil, but again, IT TASTES AMAZING so I'm ok with it, just wish somehow it could not have that much oil, or even, magically, no oil. But moving on . . . 3. It has gum arabic, gellan gum and guar gum. Does this matter? Does this harm us? Hell if I know! (You can find stuff online that says it does and that says it doesn't.) But if this matters to you, now you know. 4. It ain't cheap. But for 20 grams of protein and IT TASTES AMAZING, I'm ok with that, too. PROS: 1. NO chalkiness, not at all, none, NADA! Smooth and creamy. 2. It's vegan, so if you are, here's your protein shake. 3. I CAN'T QUIT THESE they are so tasty! I've tried. I've tried whipping up my own smoothies/shakes in my blender because: cheaper and less "processed" but man. . . these Ripple Shakes are EASY and did I mention yet that they taste amazing? 4. The carbs (13 grams) and fat (8 grams) are actually also pros for me -- because it's a great snack on its own -- or pair this with some dry roasted edamame like I often do, and it's a decent 300 calorie snack with 35 or so grams of protein and you get that sweet/salty vibe. 5. These are not too sweet tasting!! EVERY other protein shake is WAY too sweet for me. I guess I have less of a sweet palette than most Americans? Anyway, these are perfectly, lightly sweet. Hope that helps. JUST BUY THEM! I think you'll love them!

Excellent Chocolate Protein Shake
I’ve tried several lactose-free protein shakes, and the Ripple chocolate flavor is by far the best. It’s smooth, not chalky, easy on the stomach, and genuinely tastes good without being overly sweet. I had a few coworkers try it, and they were impressed as well. I also liked the coffee flavor, but it does contain caffeine, which I'm trying to avoid. If you’re looking for a great-tasting, dairy-free protein shake without that artificial or gritty texture, this one stands out.

Absolute Game-Changer for Plant-Based Protein (and Taste)!
If you're on the hunt for a truly satisfying and effective plant-based protein shake, especially one that doesn't compromise on taste or quality, then listen up. I've tried countless vegan protein options before; many taste chalky, have weird textures, or just don't deliver on the protein. This Ripple Vegan Protein Shake in chocolate? It's a total life-saver! Before this, finding a convenient and delicious protein source that fit my dietary needs was an uphill battle. Now, the difference is immediate. It's incredibly smooth, with a rich chocolate flavor that actually tastes like a treat, not a chore. With 20g of nutritious pea protein per serving, it's fantastic for post-workout recovery or a quick, healthy boost during a busy day. What truly sets this apart for me is its impressive nutritional profile and clean ingredients. It's completely free of GMOs, soy, nuts, gluten, and lactose, which is huge for those of us with sensitivities or specific dietary preferences. Plus, it's shelf-stable, so I can stock up and always have one ready. It's also a great source of essential minerals like iron (30% DV!), calcium, phosphorus, and potassium. If you struggle to find a delicious and effective vegan protein shake that truly satisfies, this Ripple shake is an absolute must-have. It's truly reduced my stress about getting enough protein and made healthy eating so much more enjoyable. Pros: Delicious, smooth chocolate flavor; no chalky taste. 20g of high-quality plant-based pea protein. Free from common allergens (soy, nuts, gluten, lactose, GMOs). Shelf-stable for convenient storage. Excellent source of iron, calcium, and other vital nutrients. A genuinely satisfying and effective protein option. Cons: Honestly, I haven't found any cons worth mentioning. It exceeds expectations for a plant-based shake. Highly, highly recommend this Ripple Vegan Protein Shake for anyone seeking genuine relief from bland protein options!

Soy free protein better than a competitor in the market.
Tastes better than a competative product on the market and is less thick. I like to put my Normalyte packets in there for a salty chocolate taste. I drink these because they are soy free and I have a soy allergy. Easy on the go protein. Fits into my macros. Consistency is a little watery. Quality is appropriate for my needs.

No synthetic sweeteners!
They started putting stevia in my morning meal supplement. I am allergic. If you've read the reviews, I am not alone, yet they pass it off as being natural. Finally, there is Ripple. (Not to be confused with the wine of yester year.) I have tried the Coffee flavor and find it drinkable if not wow. Reviewers said it was the best flavor. I will try Vanilla next. I'll have to take caffeine pills to make up for the natural caffeine in the coffee flavor, but coffee (not caffeine) messes up my GI if I drink it every day. For the lack of artificial sweeteners alone, this is recommended!

Not good for Colon Cancer Patients like me.
I am writing this review to share my Memorial Day Weekend personal experience with drinking this Ripple Chocolate Protein shake so that other people who may have complications due to the pea protein-- can see what happened to me. Now if you have a healthy colon and can eat Peas safely-I cannot-this most likely will never affect you. The taste is good and I had been needing protein and electrolytes very badly after a heavy chemo bought with FolFox5. I had been up and walking- eating plain crackers-drinking water getting back to normal. Then this shake arrived and I thought, Yes! Even Better! So I refrigerated them for about five hours. Took one out to my balcony and truly enjoyed this nondairy chocolate shake. It DID give me a boost and I was finally able to get out and walk my dog. However, at bedtime, I drank another half a chocolate Ripple shake. I woke up at 3am deathly sick and immediately vomitted both shakes up. It was really scary!!! I then had horrible diahrea and to go to the hospital. Here I am with a Bowel Blockage possibly awaiting a surgery to get a colostomy bag. Ick!!! Major Surgery! I did have a total Colon Resection Cancer Surgery last March 2022, but this blockage is all new. Obviously, having Stage 4 Metastasized Colon Cancer and Metastacized Breast Cancer-I am not blaming the shake makers at all on making this blockage happen. I only can say that the Pea Protein immediately aggravated and enflamed my badly damaged colon. It really messed me up BAD! and now here I am stuck in the hospital. I hope this helps anyone so they can avoid this happening to them. Certain hard vegetables do not process well in the Colon. Peas is one of them.

I am a repeat customer!
I ordered this Ripple plant based protein multi-pack for my aunt who is lactose intolerant. She had been drinking Ensure plant based protein, so I knew this wouldn't cause her any digestive problems. This multi-pack comes with Vanilla, Chocolate and Coffee. It's a great way to test-drive all the flavors. Vanilla was my aunt's favorite, although she still feels it is "thick" (because she is expecting it to be the consistency of milk). I thought it tasted like a wonderful, melted, vanilla shake. She was "okay" with the coffee even though coffee is MY favorite! It tastes very much like a delicious cappuccino. The chocolate was everyone's least favorite. It has that weird taste that all chocolate protein drinks seem to have. It's drinkable, just not as enjoyable as the other two. I am very sensitive to artificial sweeteners - they taste awful to me and some of them give me a headache. Ripple plant based protein shakes use monk fruit instead of artificial sweeteners. I have not liked stevia in the past so I wasn't sure how monk fruit would taste. Happily, I found it to be acceptable. There IS an aftertaste, like with an artificial sweetener, but it is less strong and fades quickly, leaving the flavor of the shake to enjoy. And I haven't had any headaches from it either. I am already a repeat customer for this product - vanilla and coffee only though.

I'll finish the ones I bought but I won't buy again
I have tried a lot of protein shakes, both plant based and dairy based. I liked the macros on these and like the ripple brand so I was excited to give these a try. I got the chocolate flavor. Generally I consume these either as a quick breakfast, or an afternoon snack. I find that the flavor is very slight-- like it walked past some chocolate but didn't quite jump in haha. The texture is decent, but it definitely tastes like pea protein, not much like chocolate. I also found that after a couple hours I was feeling super hungry, nearly lightheaded, likely because of the sugar crash (maybe?) but as a snack that's not an issue. Overall, they aren't bad, I'll finish the box I bought but I won't buy again.
