SMEG 1950's Retro Style Coffee Maker Machine (Pastel Blue)

I love the look and the color. The lid does not open far enough to pour the water in. It beeps too much. It shuts off in 20 minutes. The clock wand does not work. The little plastic feet come off and get lost. I paid too much for this beautiful looking coffee pot. All my guests and family complained about this pot.

Ok. I read all the reviews, heard all the complaints, but I still wanted to have a coffeemaker that matched my other Smeg appliances. So, my biggest beef is that it’s difficult to pour the water into the coffeemaker. I could not understand from the reviewshow this could be a problem, but it is. The lid does not open far enough to allow you to pour all of the water in. Yes, the beeping is annoying, and the fact that the machine turns off after 20 min is short sighted, but the main reason for buying it still is “ the machine makes great tasting coffee!! Isn’t that the ultimate goal here? No it’s not the most well thought out design, but it looks awesome, and makes great tasting coffee! I’ll deal with the minor issues. But, remember, “it’s better to look go, than to feel good”. We should all have such problems. Lol

This is a very poorly designed coffee maker. Cute, but everything about using it sucks.

I love SMEG products, I own the 2 slice toaster and the refrigerator. If you can live with form over function and price is not the first priority, this drip coffee maker is fine. I have had many drip coffee makers and this makes as good a coffe as any. It is well made with very good quality materials compared to other much cheaper drip coffee makers. It has a “coffee bean” button that allows the water to stay in the filter chamber longer, producing a stronger brew. As other reviewers have mentioned, the beeping and the water tank filling are anoying.
