When is a MIG 23 not a MIG 23?
One of the things about secrecy is that the truth may be more complex. The performance was controversial. At 1/72nd this model is at the limit of my skills. The paint and glue of today for environmental reasons made working in the garage waiting for a day when the outside temperature was over 60 to avoid fumes in the house I share with my sister a necessity. Looking at images after I had built it and seeing the areas of color I had added do indeed appear in the public record was great. I wish I was a better painter with microbrushes and I did not ever get my fingers on a painted part as the feathery lightness of the parts and assemblies conflicted with my safe positioning.

Fill the seams
Has a small amount of flash in random areas. Raised panel lines. Minimal cockpit and wheel well detail. Worst of all it needs a lot of putty work to fill seams. The instructions picture a diorama of the defection of a MiG-25 in 1976 landing in Japan. (Historically covered in tarps). Which will help hide most of the raised panel lines and minimize corrections.

Difficult to return-do not recommend
Returning to this company is very difficult. Unless you are absolutely sure of your purchase-stay away.

The kit is obviously vintage with raised panel lines that will diminish even with light sanding. Large body parts do not fit well enough, so you do require to sand and putty do be careful there. The color recommendations by Hasegawa are not accurate at all, so berry's to check actual photos for realistic paint cues. Landing great doors are Sisto simplified. Hasegawa probably got the references for this kit from the hurried Japanese inspection of the traitor Belenko's aircraft, so some inaccuracies are to be expected. On the plus side it's very easy to build and will give a very nice if somewhat less accurate reproduction of the mighty MiG 25!
