A good quality shaker capable of great things!
Having used a three part “cobbler” shaker for some time, I realised that some cocktails are better and more easily prepared in a two part “Boston” shaker. This Cresimo brand shaker not only looks the part but is a really good price as well for the quality of the product. It features two stainless steel cups; a nicely weighted large one with a capacity of just over 800ml and a smaller one with a capacity of just over 500ml. They combine to give you a shaker that is somewhat larger than most cobbler types. This shaker has served me well. It is a good size and nice to hold. The smaller cup joins well with the larger once when you upend it into the large one and give it a light tap to seal the two together. It seals well and the metal is solid enough to not flex significantly during shaking so there have been no accidents while using it. After you’ve shaken the drink, the two parts come apart easily with a light squeeze or tap and a twist. The contents can then be strained out into your glass using a Hawthorne strainer. I find that cocktails that use egg white or some other foaming agent to give the drink a smooth foaminess are particularly suited to a Boston shaker. After shaking the ingredients with ice, open the shaker and using a strainer, pour the drink from one cup to the other, discarding the ice. Then “dry shake” the drink again (without ice) to get the best foam effect in the drink. I find preparing a Whiskey Sour in this way to be easier than trying to use a cobbler shaker. This type of shaker is also necessary for some more advanced techniques such as “throwing” where the drink is poured several times from one cup to the other, sometimes from a great height, to aerate the drink… it can look quite impressive but a lack of practice can spell disaster! The shaker is easy to wash after use. It is said to be dishwasher safe but I tend to wash it by hand so that it is quickly back in use again. Finally, the small cup nests well within the larger one making it easy to store when not in use. Overall, I consider this an excellent addition to the bar. I’m not a professional but this looks good, works well and is a nice price so I definitely recommend it.

Decent quality
Used this a few times so far. Works really well as long as you don't get greedy and overfill! ;) Feels solid enough and survived being dropped unscathed.

pretty good shaker
Good quality stainless steel, unlike many that start to rust or get spots after a few uses. Seals great with no leaks even if the shaker is not chilled. Both halves are metal no fear of broken glass. Cannot stress how much better a Boston shaker is compared to the more common Cobbler type.

Not perfect seal
The smaller cup leaks a little. Too thin

After purchasing and returning a regular cocktail shaker because it leaked and caused a mess, I did a lot of online research and watched a lot of videos about cocktail shakers. I am SO HAPPY to have purchased this Cresimo Boston Shaker set! Everything fits easily back into the box for easy storage. The stainless steel measure is double ended with 1 oz and 1/2oz. This measure is excellent, no drips! I am a beginner cocktail shaker and I have made a handful of different cocktails and the shaker has NOT LEAKED! The two cups haven't become stuck together (which I was told could happen), which I think might be because the top of the smaller cup is a bit tapered in. The key is to put the drink ingredients and ice into the smaller container before putting it together and shaking, so the shaker doesn't become overfilled. There are lots of videos out there about cocktail shaking I suggest watching. I have only hand-washed and towel dried the pieces, and they have come out shiny just like new. I am a cocktail shaking convert! The cocktail shown in my photo is an Alpine Sapphire Martini and was delicious. Happy Cocktail Shaking! Thank You Cresimo!

I recently started bartending. Some friends got me a few different shakers one was a cobbler, which I usually wouldn't use over a Boston either and the other was this glass one with a rubber piece at the edge which was hard to keep from getting gross. This shaker is pretty much what I have at work if not the exact same thing. Sturdy, reliable, not worried about it breaking since it's not glass. Easy purchase, if it ever got lost or stolen I'd be right back here for another one.

This is a great shaker set. They appear and feel well made, and they get the job done. My only complaint is that the jigger only has 1oz and 1/2oz measurements without gradations, meaning that you may need another tool to measure smaller amounts. Be warned, though - any shaking tins with ice in them will form an air-tight seal which is necessary for shaking the fluids inside. It can be difficult to pull the tins apart after shaking a cocktail. It may even require a good smack to the side of the tin. Though you may have seen some bartenders use a pint glass instead of the smaller tin when shaking, I would not recommend it here. The metal tins are slightly flexible, allowing for the seal to be broken more easily. Glass is not flexible, and may shatter or become very difficult to remove. Just use the provided tins, they work great! TL;DR - Great shaker set, but don't use a pint glass to shake.
