We just ordered some, and I plan on just drinking it when it gets around the expiration date then ordering some fresh supply to keep on hand again for emergencies. Needless to say nothing lasts forever including these water bags. If they are getting dried out or have micro cracked seams bacteria can get into the water. Throw those things out rather than take a chance for $15! Or water some plants. Of course you wrote that back in Oct 2012 so I hope all is well if you drank them.When I received mine last week they were already a few months old. But it is a real good tasting water, tastes like a good spring water.

Does anybody know if these packages are freezable? I want to use them in my emergency bag for my truck but I am worried the packages might explode!

I have about a dozen of these that I have stored in my truck. I live in upstate NY where temps can drop well below freezing and into the single digits(both positive and negative) and have had them in there for about 3 years now. They freeze solid every winter and thaw every spring. None have popped.

Can these water pouches be stored in the car?

Yes, I've kept them in my car for three winters so far an no leaks as far a I can tell. They have definitely been through many freeze/thaw cycles as I live in the northeast.

Are the pouches easy to use and open? Does the water immediately begin to pour out? How is the taste?

Yes easy to open and use. You can just rip a corner from the top and drink from the pouch directly which I have done or pour out. The water taste great I have drank several of them before and still have plenty.
