It's a very handy device that easily fits in a small bag or pouch. Excellent for taking "selfies", but be ready to get some attention in public places. You're probably going to get asked many times where you got the "monopod". Anyways, there's a lot of cheap monopods and they all look pretty much the same and probably don't differ too much on quality. For the price, I went with this one. The reason I'm only giving it 3 stars is because I wasn't completely happy with the quality of the product. The tip/attachment pulled apart easily from the pole/rod. It came lose so easily, maybe after a couple of time of using it. For that reason, I gave it 3 stars only. I did manage to remedy it by sort of adding reinforcement, but I'm not sure how long the reinforcement will hold. I'm pretty sure it won't last long. The attachment where you put the phone is okay. Nothing to be excited too much about. It does what it needs to do, but it's a bit nerve racking sometimes. You can't help but think that your phone might just slide off, come loose, and fall at one point or another. Overall, it's okay for me. You get what you pay for. The only plus side for me was the fact that it's one of the most portable monopods out in the market right now. It's definitely not heavy duty. Putting my phone and extending the pole completely caused the pole to bend a little bit already. There's others out there that look the same and are probably a little bit more sturdy. I know this for sure because I bought another one from a different seller. It was about 6 inches shorter when completely extended (which is fine because it's enough to get a descent "selfie"), looked exactly the same, but it was easier and smoother to pull out and extend (thus lesser tendency to pull off the tip/attachment), and sturdier (putting my phone did not cause to pole to bend whatsoever). Not sure about heavier devices but I have an iPhone. If you want something handy, this will do. If you want better quality, you might want to invest more money on a sturdier one. But a sturdier one means more money and more bulk, which equates to it being not as handy as this one. So it's really depends on what suits your needs.

This goes down in history as one of the best purchases I have ever made. The story of this purchase began on July 31st, 2014. I needed a gift for my friend Kaitlin, the habitual selfie taker. This product was most likely manufactured in a carcinogen filled warehouse somewhere in China, where it was placed on the back of a Chinese peasant and carried east to the Pacific by foot. After being loaded onto a container ship, off it went to the great land of America. Sixteen days later it showed up on my doorstep. I had forgotten about my purchase as I was told it would take at least a month to arrive, but boy was it a magical surprise. Inside the package labelled in a language unknown to me was my brand new selfie stick. I immediately decided to never give this away and ordered as many as I could for all of my friends.So what is this product all about you might ask? Basically, it is long stick made of medium to poor quality metal that can be compact enough to fit in a medium to large size handbag. It rotates, swivels, and allows for amazing shots of myself when I am sitting alone in my living room. I will never be able to take selfies without it ever again. When my friends will actually come hang out with me, it works great for group shots too. No more asking random people to take a photo of you! Just a warning, it is not one of the fancy selfie sticks with the button on the handle to take the picture, but for $5 and free transit it is totally worth it.... just download a photo timer app and you are good to go. I could not be more happy with this purchase. Once in a lifetime opportunity right here ladies and gentlemen.

What I Like: This thing gets so much attention wherever you go! I love that I can take it on vacations with my boyfriend and we don't have to bother other tourists to take a picture for us, and we can get the full background in the picture. I also really like that we have control over what part of the background you get in the picture (vs getting blurry photos taken by strangers with crappy lighting). It's small enough that it fits in my purse without taking up too much room, it's just a bit awkward shaped with the mount on top. It's nice that the top is just a standard size screw mount, so if you want to use a different camera with it instead of a phone you have that option.What I Don't Like: I wasn't a fan of the phone mount that came with it, but it was free so I have no complaints. The top part of the mount is spingy and adjusts to phone size while the side piece just kind of slides out to fit the phone you're using. It's plastic so it gives me the feeling it will break at a moment's notice. Also, the part that screws on the mount is a little unstable. I found myself constantly trying to tighten it and never feeling like it was perfectly tight. It's not too big of a problem as I just adjust and tighten it for every use.Tips: Get yourself a bluetooth remote if you plan on using this with your phone! It makes taking pictures even more of a breeze, plus the monopod has a tiny loop on the wriststrap where you can nicely attach a remote.

With all the craze for selfies I thought I would get in on the act too. Seems well made and hold my Xperia Z perfectly well

This is a total waste of time ..... as one comment said it is basically a stick , unless I have a 10 foot arm that can press the button to take the picture , what a ripoff

Very basic, no connection to phone for photo. And the extension is very lose, it won't hold my phone straight for more then half a second before it twists and turns
