Good, but heavy high spec machine
Brought as a secondary access to my network/net and required a powerful machine. It boots quickly and stays stable, no matter what I throw at it, although it is a tad heavy. Unlike some ‘high spec’ machines the fans do not come on immediately it’s turned on but tends to do their proper job, that is thermally controlled. Visuals are very good and responsive, unfortunately the battery doesn’t supply power for an extended time, around 4-5 hours but if you’re using it as a gaming machine you’d probably be sitting comfortably with your laptop plugged into the mains. Can’t really pass judgement on the gaming side but it’s easily coping with everything I’ve thrown at it. Would I buy it again, possibly not as it’s higher spec than I really need, so it’s not the laptops fault it’s a powerful lump performing within specs, it’s just my full needs are well inside those limits.

Not impressive!
The touchpad doesn't work. I see it's a known issue with this model. The AC adapter block is ridiculously big. Is it from a museum? Also, the laptop often stalls for up to 20 seconds when I only have about 5 browser tabs open and Slack's desktop app open. Absolutely not worth the money.

love it
so far I have loved everything about this laptop. At last i can play the AAA games I couldn't before and with crystal clear graphics and that run smooth. The sound is fantastic for a laptop and overall I am really pleased with it. Before just jumping in and buying a gaming laptop straight away I did a lot of research and looked at reviews to see what people were saying about this laptop. And it was well worth it.

You'll need a knee tray for this one!
Performs well, much slicker than my previous HP laptop. It's main drawback is the weight which puts it right on the fringes of "laptopness". I can just about lift it with one hand and it needs a laptray if I'm going to use it for an extended period.

Poor Battery Life
Bought this as my laptop was getting on a bit and was struggling to cope with modern gaming. All in all it's been good so far, graphics are fast and smooth, doesn't overheat. My issue and the reason why i've given it 3 stars is the battery life totally sucks. Charged it fully on arrival, as instructions state, and i'm lucky if i get a full hour of gaming, it usually around 45 mins when i enter battery saving and all the settings dumb down to reduce power output. As it's actually designed specifically for gaming i was hoping for 2-3 hours minimum. The battery is a sealed unit, so no easy way to swap it without voiding the warranty I presume?

The screen won’t open. The laptop is totally suitable.
It has a black scree which won’t open. It is too heavy even to be used at home a NC

Defective touchpad but terrific seller customer service
The HP Omen was faulty, however the seller was terrific and called me straight away. They gave agreed to full refund. I highly recommend the seller, but it appears this particular product gas a known issue with touchpad not working, randomly running around the screen opening things. I've tried settings and HP (who were no good and just said it was faulty and to return it). Anyhow highly recommend the seller but I do not recommend this demon of a laptop!
