Hayward H-FD Series Pool Heater Bezel Keypad & Protective Metal Cover Kit Manufactured NOT AFFILIATED in Any Way with Hayward

This is a great company and product. I received the package in 2 days, and both the keypad and the hinged cover were meticulously packed. The vendor had even hand-written in red ink where to cut the inner protective wrapping to prevent any chance of damage. Installation instructions were very thorough and easy to follow. My Hayward H400ED2 heater fires up instantly now, and all keypad controls work perfectly. Job done!I must say more about Insync Engineering. I salute their vision and genius for making this product available. As is documented in other reviews, Hayward does not sell just the keypad. They require you to purchase the entire Control Bezel Assembly (HAXCPA1932) for around $500. That's hard to swallow when the only thing wrong with my heater was the keypad's 3" ribbon connector had been heat damaged. In other words, about 3 cents of actual material that Hayward requires me to spend $500 to fix. Thank you Insync Engineering for saving me hundreds of dollars.

This solved my problem, saved me a bunch of money, and prevents it happening again. But, for the $37 extra they are charging for the cover (which is a small piece of aluminum, two rivets, a piano hinge, and two tiny screws) they should at least provide it with a nice powder finish. Instead it’s just raw aluminum and they tell you to paint it yourself.

The replacement panel face is just about perfect - just needs a slightly smoked window over the display instead of the clear window to be a perfect match to the OEM panel. As to the panel door it's damn near perfect - only needs a coat of black paint to make it fit the overall look of the heater. And it will serve to protect the panel display from the hot desert sun where I live (thus extending the life of the new panel many fold).

My H250fdn is about 15 years old, but still going strong with regular maintenance and some parts replaced. The old display was unreadable at this point due to UV damage. Not only can I see what the temperature is set at now, but the cover will prevent further damage to the new panel.

Item as described. Easy to install and works great. Great alternative to Hayward’s “replacement” when you just need a new keypad. Protective cover is sturdy and should help this keypad last longer.

This thing fit like a glove and worked right off the bat! For this price, you are crazy to buy the OEM unit. The install was ridiculously simple, and the fit was perfect. Heater works like new again, 'Nuff said.
