Works as advertised.
You have use this compatible tank if you buy a Newport Brass hot water faucet. Insinkerator makes a tank also, that only works with an Insinkerator hot water faucet. So make sure your tank and faucet match up before you buy, otherwise you will be in for a lot of aggravation and extra expense.

Tank doesn’t come with connections per the literature
This tank doesn’t come with the connections per the literature. Unfortunately, I’ve had to reinstall two different faucets and so far non are comparable. Sadly I missed my return date by a few days.

Cheap plastic broke after 4 years. Hope next one does better.
My two previous tanks (different brands) had rusted out and leaked under the sink, ruining stuff we keep under there. I got one of these (4 years ago) because it has a stainless steel tank. Yesterday we came home to find that the tank was leaking. I took it apart and found that the plastic screwing cap (or whatever you call it) that keeps the compression fitting tight on the outgoing hot water was broken and the water was just pouring out of the output hose. There are no moving parts in this thing, so I have no idea what would have made it break. It's possible that the connector was already cracked, but there was no way to check that before installation without taking the tank apart, which is a chore. Without going into details, it doesn't appear that I can replace this 50-cent piece of plastic, so I'm having to order a new $230 tank instead. I would prefer another brand because of this experience, but it would be a lot more hassle, so I'm taking a chance on another one of these. At least it will (or should) be easy to replace. One thing I really like about it is that it doesn't screw into the cabinet wall; it hangs on a notch which you screw into the cabinet, so it just lifts right off and I'll be able to reuse that. On a related note -- when we had tanks leak before, we had someone put a couple of drains in the floor of the cabinet under the sink. They just empty out into the crawl space. A lip added to the front of the cabinet floor keeps the water from coming out of the cabinet. Stuff under the sink is placed on wire racks about a half-inch high, so at least nothing got damaged. It is also a good idea to put a drain under the refrigerator and under the washing machine. I've had friends and family who have suffered extensive damage from those hoses bursting. And on a final note -- those hoses and dishwasher hoses should be replaced every 5 years. A neighbor's house burned down and he was lucky not to be badly injured or killed when the hose on his propane BBQ grill gave out and the tank blew up.

Good water heater
This is a good water heater. You can adjust the temperature with a knob at the front. Only cons is that it is a little noisy, but works great.

Not worth the money!
I had this installed for about 6 weeks and the gasket up top just failed and leaked all over my sink cabinet. I am very disappointed. I bet getting anything taken care of is going to be a hassle with the warranty department....

Internal hose ruptured
I had this tank and the company's dispenser installed in April, August the dispenser was faulty and I was given a new cartridge. But no one offered to pay for the installation so it's still in the box. In November, the unit stopped working and there was flooding under the sink. It turns out that a hose within the tank ruptured. The warranty is good and the vendor is replacing the dispenser and the tank. That's lovely, but no one has offered to pay for the plumber.

It last no more than a year
While I did not expect for my unit to last more than 3 years, the customer service in Newport was just horrible. My worked for a little more than 1.5 years. It was very disappointing to even have purchased this unit. But the guy who answered the phone was non existent at best. Don't even waste your time calling Newportbrass.
