Good stand with a couple minor assembly flaws
This makes a pretty decent bedside stand for a tablet. The tripod legs hold it steady - it doesn't seem ready to fall over at any time like I've read about some other stands. My iPad 3 is held securely in place by the mount. The included USB cable is very convienent, although a little short on the bottom - you might need a standard USB extension cord to go with it, unless you are within about 2 feet of a plug. The flexible arm is a little stiff, but I was able to get it in to the position I wanted without too much trouble, and I'd rather have it be more stable than loose. It comes with a built in extension arm that allows you to raise the stand quite high - higher than the picture would lead you to believe. Overall I'm pretty pleased with it, it makes reading email, web browsing, and watching movies on a tablet pretty convienent in bed or on the couch. The tablet holder looks like it will accomodate a fairly wide range of devices - both my iPad 3 and Nexus 7 fit in it fine, and you could go with even larger tablets.I knocked off a star for a couple reasons: One, the adjustable part of the tablet holder wouldn't tighten down - it appears to be missing a washer. Perhaps mine was mistakenly shipped without one but whatever the case it won't work without it. 5/8 twist-lock washers are cheap and do the trick but I shouldn't have had to make a trip to the hardware store to get one. Also, the height extension is a little loose - there's a latch that when opened easily allows you to move it up and down, but it too is a little loose. It holds it in place when closed, but it's a little too easy to move up and down even in that state. I didn't have a problem with the weight of my tablet moving it once in place, but it's annoying when you are first adjusting it to the right position. It also comes with a little plastic phone/mp3 player holder about mid-stand, but it's an afterthought and not much use. My iPhone 5 would fit in it only by using force (which I didn't want to do, as it's not padded) and it's one of the slimmest modern phones around - most Android phones, or the iPhone 4 for that matter, wouldn't fit, even sans case. I wasn't even expecting it so I won't knock off a star for that but be aware. With the USB extension it's actually a decent deal. Buy it, just watch out for the usual fit and finish issues.

Good value, easy to assemble and use
Good, lightweight, but if used as pictured (tablet attached, gooseneck bent far to the side directly opposite one of the legs) with my Asus 10.1" tablet (no case or cover) the stand tends to tip very easily. I must be sure the gooseneck is pretty much directly above a leg, or close to it. Also, legs should lock in place so they don't collapse when moving. I also have a Levo stand I bought a couple of years ago, which has a very heavy base, making it hard to move around. I really like the portability of this stand. Also, the LED light is on the same side as the tablet, so you can't use the light with a [full-size, anyway] tablet attached. I think the light would be better placed on the back of the stand so it can be used without removing the tablet. The cable length is somewhat of an issue, as it is too short to use without an extension cord. Height adjustment latch should hold a bit tighter or be adjustable, but this is a minor detail, because it takes days to move enough to notice.Update Dec. 25, 2013Downgrading by half a star because it is fairly easy to tip over accidentally with my 10.1" Asus tablet attached, when gooseneck is bent directly opposite one of the legs. This can happen if you brush against it, because it rotates too easily. The clamp needs to be adjustable, or at the least made tighter when manufactured. Because of this tendency to tip, mine has fallen over twice (on carpet!) and the adjustable retainer which holds the tablet broke on one end. While it still works, it`s only a matter of time before the piece breaks off entirely. Contacting seller tomorrow, and will report back on outcome.

It serves the specific purpose
We purchased this in our lazy hopes of being able to swing the iPad over the bar into the kitchen and back down to the couch that is right next to it. It does a decent job, but it did not wow us. The legs are a bit loose, thebar is a bit rigid, and the iPad doesn't fit just perfectly. So, we are using it, but it would be nice to have it a bit more flexible. The legs are they style that if you pick this up, they all immediately move. There is no way to make the legs stay out. This means that if you plan to pick it up and move it around, you need to mess with the legs or make sure they continue to drag on the ground. It would be nice if there was a little bolt you could push through there to lock out the legs. It works, as is. But, removes the I love it star. The rigidness of the bendy bar is probably listed as a feature, but it is not very conducive to moving the bar around. So, this keeps the iPad in the right position, but doesn't make it easy. This makes me really not love the stand. Then, the locking mechanism is made in such a way that you can slide it shut in a way that allows the iPad to slide out. It allows the locking mechanism to swivel. This means that it can go on at an angle that is dangerous to your tech gear. This makes me not specifically "like" it.So, this does the job and may be exactly what you were looking for. It works for me and my house, but will be easy for me to justify getting something different.

JUNK
No,no,no never ever again. Starts off with no instructions, then falls apart at every junction or scerwed in connection (2 places and snaps without notice), whole stand tips over constantly when in use, plus one leg cap came cracked (had to duck tape it on), the iPad when placed in holder does not stay in place. Just rotates lower and lower or slides from chosen placement. The neck has limited flex, reach or give but does stay stiff. A lot of money for nothing. Looks clever, is not. I was a trusting fool. My need over run my judgement.

Not worth the money!
The base of this product is not heavy enough to prevent my I-Pad from toppling over when the stand is at its highest level and at an angle. Also the clip that allows the stand to extend doesn't hold. It slips because of the weight of the I-Pad. I would not recommend this product.
