All About Me (And My Shunt)

Great explanation on hydrocephalus that a child or anyone can understand.

We all enjoyed reading this book and we learned some new words.

This is the only book I've found that explains shunts in simple terms that children can understand. I am already reading this book to my two year old, and although some of the passages are a little too long to hold her attention, I know she's absorbing the information. I also can read this story to her cousins (who are 1, 5, and 8), to help them understand why my daughter has surgeries on her head. I would recommend this book for anyone who has a young child with hydrocephalus.

Our two month old son was recently diagnosed and had a shunt placed. So in love with this book that perfectly and simply explains Hydrocephalus to both kids and adults. Excited to share it with family, friends, and daycare so that everyone can understand our son better and definitely calmed my worries to read it myself! A total must-have.

I purchased this book for my granddaughter who has hydrocephalus. Hopefully this book is the beginning of books that explain and tell all children about this condition. Books that explain and enlighten sometimes misunderstood issues.

I was excited when I came across this book for my baby with hydrocephalus, and it exceeded my expectations. Even though he is too young now, I know that this book will help in explaining it to him. The illustrations are so cute too! Would definitely purchase for any child with hydrocephalus!

Cute illustrations, and a basic description of a child with hydrocephalus and her shunt. Something that is much needed in Neurosurgeon's and Neurologists offices.

My son has a VP shunt. I received this as a gift from another shunt mom, and I'll be using this to explain his shunt to him when he gets older.
