Conté à Paris Sanguine Sketching Crayons

I used this for my life drawing and I preferred this rather than the charcoal that I have. I guess something about this specific type is good quality. It blends easily, it’s greats to also draw or sketch. I like that it’s easy to erase, I use a white smooth eraser. I also like that’s it’s easy to wash off. Overall it manages well.

One came broken, but these are fragile, so it's expected. Worked great for my college drawing class. Good for sketching figures and shading.

These are exactly the type of conte crayons recommended by art instructor. He specifically said we should get the "Conte" brand of conte crayon. These are a nice, reddish brown color. I will add that one of them was broken when I received it. A shame, but not worth the trouble of returning. And, for my purposes (just learning), it actually doesn't really make much difference in terms of usability.

These arrived broken but I used super glue to put them back together. They're very bright and I love using them for figure drawing.

Cont'e A Paris is a brand name. Some beginning artists like me might think one conte is like another. This brand drawing sticks and their other products are very nice to use. The other cheaper brands that are just too hard. I use these for life drawing on newsprint. The other brands hardly leave a mark on the newsprint. One tip I use is to gently-carefully sharpen one end to a dull point. It wastes some of the stick but you don't have the square tip to break in.

The conte crayons came on time (which was great, because the last time I tried to order conte crayons they didn't come at all). Great quality. Color's beautiful. The only thing I think is worth mentioning is that both crayons came broken, which doesn't matter to me, but it's just fyi.
