Very Surprised
I'm moving from my home and I have a whole house system using the Proficient C646 speakers in 8 rooms. At $200 a pair I did not want to leave those and was faced with repairing 16 openings and painting a lot of ceiling. I purchased a single pair of the Pyle PDIC60's and exchanged them with a pair of my Proficient speakers saving a lot of time and money! I never dreamed the quality of sound would be as good based on the cost. The speaker housing is a cheap but I had no problems installing these in the existing openings. Regarding sound these are not as deep nor as rich as the Proficient speakers, but overall the sound is fantastic for the price. They are also a little shy on the high end but that may be an advantage to some of you. These speakers will not produce as much high end noise that you hear with poor wiring or budget components. The bottom line is if I had no side by side comparison I'd would have been very happy had I installed these the first time around. If you are on a budget or installing a whole house system with limited wattage you will be happy with these speakers. I would not recommend using these in a home theater system if you except to push a lot of power but I still can't believe the price and so I just ordered 7 more pair to replace the remaining Proficient speakers.

Great sounding speakers and easy to install!
We needed some speakers to mount in a drop ceiling at our business. After reading many reviews and lots of googling, we landed on this set by Pyle. Our ceiling was a mixture of hard and soft 2x4 ceiling tile. That's the best way I know to explain it: one type of tile was very flexible and papery, the other was very rigid, almost like sheet rock. We needed to mount a speaker in each type. The installation in both types of tile was very easy. The speakers come with a template that you use to cut a precise hole in the ceiling tile. Mounting the speaker into the rigid style tile was the easiest. It just worked. We tightened the clamp onto the tile and connected the speaker wire and placed it back in the ceiling. It was literally 5 minutes. The flimsy style tile was a little different. We ended up using a 2ft long by 2 inch wide piece of wood that we bought at Lowes to span the length of the tile. We used two pieces of this wood, one on each side of the hole where the speaker would sit. This gave us a firm surface to tighten the clamps onto so the speaker would hold. The 2 foot wood pieces then sat snugly into the metal ceiling grid at each end, supporting the weight perfectly. These are not very heavy speakers, so we did not use any wire to support weight. We installed these in April 2016, and they're still going strong. Now! The sound! It's amazing! These speakers really sound great. We didn't hook these into some super expensive receiver, just a cheap $50 radio that happened to use speaker wire and had a CD player. The radio we used sits about 50ft from either speaker and we used Amazon Basics 16 gauge speaker wire. The sound coming from these speakers really fills our storefront well and sounds wonderful! They even have a good amount of bass! We've had lots of compliments on how great they look as well as how great they sound. I couldn't be happier with these speakers and highly recommend them!!

Nice for the price
Decent for the price. They blend in with the ceiling nicely. Not a lot of bass but not expected since they are part of a 5.1 surround sound set up

Great Sound for the $
I bought 4 pairs of these for a 4500 sq ft custom house of a client of mine. Installed them throughout the house with in wall volume controls hooked up to a Pioneer AV Receiver...they sound great. Install was a snap...good quality of hooks that flip around to hold in drywall, good connectors for wires to run into, etc. I have put in a lot of in wall speakers over the years and have found that for most people using them for just whole house sound, you don't need the big brands with the big cost. Just buy something like this from a name brand and save yourself some money. You are never cranking the up all the way, just for background music during parties, or working around the house.

Great speakers for the price and my surround sound media closet build.
Firstly shipping and delivery were on point, I ordered 3 pairs which came packaged together in another box which hid the contents and not so much as a scratch in the product packages. Working for a Interior Designer who primarily uses me as a Electrical contractor and is new to the A/V world left me with a budget which I still can't believe worked but using 4 of these speakers along with the PDIWCS56 (mounted in the ceiling between FL,FR but roughly a foot forward) as a Center Speaker and a Polk PSW10 10" stand alone subwoofer with a Denon AVR - S510BT Receiver hidden in closet, wired with in wall 16/2. The performance of these speakers in a flow through type floor plan acting in your normal 5.1 is really impressive even at high volume and just as impressive when streaming music and listening outside of the main listening position. The only complaint I heard was that because the tweeter is directional it is a bit more noticeable than something that would be described as completely invisible. Sorry this was long but since I am giving 5 stars a description was warranted. All in all a great product especially for the price.

Can't beat the value!
Just got finished installing four (4) of these speakers in my home. I've got them hooked up to a Niles switch, then into my standard receiver. For the price, these are pretty outstanding little speakers. When I was initially testing these without installing them first, I was really worried because the sound was thin, tinny, and quiet when off center. However I read a review here that they experienced the same and once installed all was good. I would also recommend getting some enclosures for installation that will be up against insulation (or in an attic space). While these speakers are made of tough material, I doubt their durability over time with the back exposed. Also I think you can get some better sound quality with a properly sealed enclosure behind. Lastly, these speakers come with some strange putty adhesive to attach the grills without much instruction. I just crammed the putty in the "track" where the speaker grill sits on either side of the speaker. Then installed the grill (which went in easily). So hopefully those will continue to hold over time. We will see. Overall, very happy with these speakers so far and I am listening to them as I write this review.

Great sound - cheap price
I've only had these installed for about 5 days. I'm very happy with them. The bass response is great - they are a little 'treble-y' but I adjusted the bass up on my system. I have 8 of these throughout the house in different zones along with a couple of the Pyle PWRC82 8-Inch In-Ceiling Dual-Channel/Voice Coil speakers (also very nice btw). I have two SONOS - CONNECT Wireless Streaming Music Stereo Receiver Component and 4 Russound x75 amps that I am using to run music throughout the house. I have spent literally years thinking about a whole house audio system and I really believe what I have is the way to go. Seamless and great sound. I gave these 5 stars because the sound for the money is great. You could surely spend more and get something that sounds better. I just don't need that for background music in my house. If I crank them up a bit, they still sound good. I'm not a huge fan of the concentric circle in the center for the tweeter adjustment, otherwise, nothing to complain about here. If you're on a budget and wanting to dive in, I'd start with these. I am going to mix in a couple more 8-inch speakers in to my system to improve overall bass response. My buddy has a very similar system in his house with higher-end 6.5inch speakers throughout. These sound better.

Good for the price!
I bought 6 pairs of these for an office sound system and installed in a drop ceiling. They really sound great, with decent bass, clear highs and solid midrange. They installed easily and securely and as I said, the price was certainly good. My only problem, which caused me to subract a star, was that at least 8 or 9 of the speakers had stress cracks in the plastic housing...some in the round bezel which actually shows when you install. This doesn't impact the sound or their ability to stay mounted securely. But clearly there is a manufacturing problem. Either they are torqueing the screws too tight during assembly, or the plastic is compressing after assembly and cracking. Even so, if I had to add sound to additional rooms, I'd still use these as the sound and price are great.
