Mitutoyo-968-202 Protractor, Semi-Circular, 6 in, Non-Grad

I can’t recall ever buying something from Mitutoyo that let me down. They aren’t the cheapest but they always work and work well. I do like and try to buy USA made products, but I don’t hesitate at all to buy from Mitutoyo.

Its a quality item. Works great for brake press job.

Mitutoyo quality. Smoothe, accurate, and easy to read. I have them for tool and die work.

It's off by a degree.

I opted for this mid-priced Mitutoyo protractor on the basis of other Mitutoyo tools I own as well as it being made in the US. There are virtual oceans of this type of protractor churned out by Chinese producers. Obviously I haven't seen them all, but the ones I have seen I thought were a bit too thin or didn't lock without slipping. Some are better made than others. On the other hand, I wasn't going to spend say, $60-$80 or so on a tool that is used for fairly rough angle gauging in the shop. The Mitutoyo is better-made than the typical alternatives and does lock without slippage. Engraving is good and it's easy to read. It comes in a decent plastic slip case. I down-rated to 4 stars because the indication is slightly off by less than a degree. I can and will correct this easily with a slight stoning, but should not have to. Recommended.

Work great!

A name you can stand behind. This protractor is a quality made tool that will be put to many uses, primarily measuring drill bit angles. Spend a little more and get quality that will last.

Better made than a lot of these dime-a-dozen protractors. Easy to read, doesn't slip when locked. Mitutoyo is a great brand and their tools are held in high regard among machinists/fabricators, myself included.
