Pearl Pealess Whistle

I really like the Fox 40 Pearl. I use it as a soccer referee. It has a very different tone than whistles most other fields will be using, so it's easy for (especially younger) kids to know when the whistle is for their game at the crowded tournament. Very easy to blow as a novice, so I recommend it for new teens. It isn't as loud as most whistles, so great for younger mod-field games (7v7 or 9v9), but it's plenty loud for even the noisy 11v11 games (had multiple mentors/assessors comment how they could hear this whistle anywhere around the field). Attach it to another whistle and it's easy to hold and now you have two tones to choose from for your game. Highly recommend for teen referees who may be new to blowing whistles, doing mod games, or for anyone looking for a different and unique tone to differentiate your field at a tournament.

While it was slightly more expensive than I would’ve liked, given that it is a single formed piece of plastic, ultimately I think this will be worth the cost. The whistle is definitely loud enough to be heard across a distance - so much so, in fact, that I have to plug my own ears when blowing it. Because it is entirely plastic it is easy to clean and sanitize, and I don’t think it will be easily broken. My previous whistle was colored metal and less expensive, but the color started flaking off, which was rather disturbing. I used the metal one for many years, and I think the new one will hold up over time as well. I would recommend this for a playground and coaching uses.

Although this would be great for sports I use it as a personal safety device - and Pearl whistles really are well suited to the job. Pros: - the sound; it's clear and distinct without being ridiculously loud or overly high pitched - the color; it stands out on my key ring and so can easily be located - it's very lightweight - it's well sized (some whistles are in my opinion too large/uncomfortable to use in your mouth) - the key ring component is smooth and easy to use

Exactly as described. Fox 40 is the best they are durable, easy to use and easy to make different tones.

Product works fine. Product description says there is a lanyard but there is none in the packaging. Must purchase separately.

Perfect for recess! Just what I needed

Whistle is easy to use and loud. I bought one for each of my 3 kids that ref sports. Thankfully I read a review from a lifeguard on how to properly blow this whistle. If you just blow into it, it's not so loud. The lifeguard suggested putting your tongue on the opening then essentially say, "tit" as you blow. The exchange of your tongue and a force of air causes the whistle to sound quite loud.
