Great product!
I bought this product for my daughter's 13th birthday party, and it was a huge hit! My daughter's friends loved it and they had so much fun! Before I purchased it, I read most of the reviews, and I'm glad I did. Some ended up with disasterous results and some recommended Signature's Chocolate Fondue mix instead of making it from scratch. I didn't want to risk my daughter's party, so I followed their recommendations and bought the fondue mix. It cost more but it was worth the extra money; it was the easiest thing in the world (you just melt it in the microwave and pour it in the fountain), and it was absolutely mess-free. I chose milk chocolate and it tasted delicious. I strongly recommend this product to anybody who is looking for something fun for special occasions.

Great for parties!
We have used our fountain twice since it arrived. The first time was for a baby shower at my office. I was put off about having to melt the chocolate before putting it in the fountain, but found it wasn't that big of a deal if you throw it in a glass dish in the microwave for a minute or two. We served all kinds of different fruits and pretzels. People loved the concept and had a really good time with it. Even with approx. 25 people attending we ended up with left over chocolate in the bowl, and that was a pain to clean up, as we do not have a dishwasher at work. The second time we pulled it out at home for my family of four. My children ( ages 8 and 10 ) had a great time trying different things in the fountain- but after about 15 minutes of chocolate covered things everyone had reached sweet tooth capacity. We had marshmellows, pretzels, strawberries and my husband even tried dill pickles. Clean up in the dishwasher was MUCH easier- but the whole process was still alot of hassel for such a small group. We ended up with ALOT of left over chocolate. For larger groups of people, this is a fun way to serve desert and a great conversation piece. The kids had a wonderful time, but next time we will invite some friends over before setting it up. The oil you have to add to the chocolate makes the consistancy pretty thin- and while that didnt seem to effect it coating the different things, splatters and drips were all over, especially with the kids. But the little bit of mess was well worth it and we will be setting it up for christmas eve when family and friends come over.

Not a good investment
Unfortunately,I bought this fountain for the 1st. birthday party of my granddaughter..and as you can imagine, we were very excited about it. We spent hours trying to make it work properly, we spent a lot of chocolate, lots of oil and never worked and it had a horrible noise. I called the company and explained in detail my case and the man on the phone said they will refund my money.... yes, I am still waiting. Not only I had bad luck getting a broken fountain but bad luck in getting my money back.

Highly recommended - best chocolate fountain ever!
Worked great for a party of around 40 people. Both the children and adults loved it. Big bag of chocolate morsels from Costco lasted us party of 4 hours. Had borrowed this same one before purchasing. Easy to use and clean.

Rival CFF5 Chocolate Fondue Fountain
The fountain worked fairly well, but the chocolate only really poured out on one side. It definitely didn't look like the pictures, where the chocolate poured out smoothly and evenly on all sides. But otherwise, it did work well enough for dipping and the chocolate itself stayed melted throughout the night. It didn't get lumpy or anything. All in all, you get what you pay for. If you're using it for a party, it's fine; if you want it for a formal event like a wedding, it's probably better to rent a professional one.

I thought I bought this for my fiance...
This machine is fantastic. I bought it for my fiance for Valentine's Day and I'm suprised by how much we actually use it. I'm very pleased with the product overall. Actually, I feel a little awkward because I was really reluctant to have a fondue fountain in my house. Pros: - It comes apart easily and almost all of the parts are dishwasher safe. - It's great for entertaining multiple guests. - It's very quiet and attractive to look at -- a great centerpiece. Cons: - Even though it's dishwasher safe and comes apart easily, it's really a production to clean. Very messy. Chocolate EVERYWHERE. - We used 3 lbs. of chocolate (the machine recommended 3-5 lbs.) and we didn't have good of a flow. To get a good flow we had to add two more pounds. That is way to much chocolate unless your having a good-sized party. - I know the heater is just to keep the chocolate from getting cooled to much, but the machine did start making more noise and the flow wasn't as good the longer it ran. And you can't adjust the heat setting so I'm not sure how to remedy that. - Even though I bought this for my fiance, I'm always stuck cleaning it up.
