Sturdy, good quality. Multiple keys, and good fittings
I’ve fitted numerous versions of this lock for customers, and they’re always happy with the result. Sturdy, fairly easy to install. Impressed by the fact you get everything need included, even an auger drill bit of the correct size. The lock trim cover surround gives a great look once installed. Extra security compared to smaller traditional bolts. Plenty of keys as standard and bonus is you can lock/unlock from both sides.

Nice quality locks
I bought one of these for our large driveway gates, so they could be locked without having to resort to padlocks or similar. I was so impressed with the initial purchase that I decided to buy a second! These locks are really nice quality, and come supplied with almost everything required to install them, bar a drill and screwdriver. Yep, they even supply suitable drill bits, although I opted to use my own, as the supplied ones whilst usable aren't the greatest quality. There's a handy, self-adhesive, template to ensure all the holes are drilled in just the right place, a really thoughtful addition that helps ensure a smooth installation process. As mentioned, in the box you also get drill bits for making the necessary sized holes, again, a really nice inclusion, which just adds to the sense of this being a well thought out, quality product. The instructions, if you need them, are easy to follow. Once installed, the locks operate smoothly and look smart from both front and back. The faceplate, for the front, is a nice finishing touch and ensures a professional finish. The supplied keys, of which there were plenty, are a decent enough quality. Granted, they're not high security, but they are much better than what you get with many locks. The lock itself is nice and sturdy. The shot bolt is a good, thick metal construction, of a square profile. The keep has a plastic lining, which is nicely profiled to aid the bolt home. Again, it's these little details that add to the sense of quality. Having had these in use now for several months, there have been no issue at all. They work nice and smoothly and offer a good sense of security. Granted, they aren't the cheapest option, but they are certainly worth the extra over cheaper alternatives. I highly recommend them!

Strong, secure, and easy to fit.
Solid, well-made lock that feels really secure once installed. Fitting was straightforward, and the mechanism works smoothly from both sides. I fitted mine on our garden gate. However, this lock is perfect for gates, sheds, etc, anywhere you need extra security. Good quality and worth the money for peace of mind.

Feels like built to last.
Heavy duty lock that's built well. However the lock maybe a bit overkill, at least in my situation. My garden gate is a standard garden gate which means if you really wanted to get in, you can kick it hard enough for the hinges to give way. As for convenience, the lock is brilliant as it can be locked and unlocked from both sides of the gate. It does however mean you can't fit any additional locking bolt(s).

Great easy to fit Locks
Really good general purpose lock. Easy to install Drill bits included for installation. A bit of an on cost but much better than having padlocks to secure your gate or door. Much more convenient, as you can secure gate from either side. I've been using these locks for years. So I can highly recommend them. Original locks came with laser cut keys, which were expensive to replace or to have additional keys cut . These are much better as they come with standard cut keys. I've got them installed on my garage doors as additional security. They needed different fittings but work brilliantly.

Absoloutely excellent quality product design solution.
Absolutely excellent product! Will probably last forever. Well put together - excellent stainless steel and strong build. I installed 2 of these in less than 90 minutes. nicely, the lock came with all fittings and installation tools like drill bits, spade drill screws and driver bit. A definite 5* recommendation!

Key lock..
With the thumb lock model, the dead bolt can be pushed accross using your fingers, whereas the key model it locks.. I understand that it's a thumb lock therefore can be twisted to open, but it doesn't seem right.. There must be a better way, such as a push or button to lock mechanism. For that reason I've had to return it for the keyed both sides model - which works as you would expect. 5 stars for the double key lock, 3 for the thumb lock - it's a bad design. I've fitted 2 now, and both where easy and straight forward, fixings, supplied are good, as others have stated the 19mm wood drill bit was good for nothing on the first lock, worked fine with the next one supplied. That seems to be hit & miss, unless they have upgraded the supplied bit. Make sure you extend the bolt before fitting the lock to the gate, if your going behind a wall or stop it's not an issue, however if your planning to recess it you may find it hits the wall and stops before it'd fully engaged, you'll end up moving it. Would definitely recommend the key lock.

Well engineered lock
This was the second one purchased but unfortunately did not function properly after fitting so returned it. The original one purchased works fine and the product is a well engineered item. As usual Amazon's return and refund process worked well. New one purchased and is now fitted and works well.

This lock has a particularly long throw, which suits my application. The materials seem to be holding up well to the elements. It also comes with plenty of keys which is handy for a pedestrian gate.

I had transformed a metal fence panel in my garden into a gate, which we wanted lockable from both sides. This worked perfectly and is now installed in our steel gate. I installed this 4 months ago and we have been using it on a daily basis (the locking bar for me could just slide into 2 steel sheets already on my fence, so I used the bracket for the bar as handle on my new "gate" instead. Nice quality, keys seem fine (just like with all keys - do not use brute force, is something seems stuck and you will be fine). SOLUTION - IF THE LOCK STARTS BEING STUCK: Yesterday, the lock suddenly could not be opened from one side anymore (as noted by other reviews as well) after 4 months of daily use, and now freezing temperatures. Sometimes you could not even fit the key in from one side - but here is an easy fix that did it: apply a few drops of light mineral oil (I used clipper oil) to the tip of the key, stick into the lock as far as possible without force and wiggle a bit; take out and repeat until you can put the key in and turn. Be patient and wait a bit in between, you can also add a little oil to the metal bar. It works just fine again! (this solution was recommended to me by a local locksmith) - Enjoy! I don't think it is the locks fault, as this open design, is what makes water easily access the mechanism and also makes thing dry out faster. The open design is what makes it so useful for many DIY applications. Very happy with it!
