HOSOM Spring Expansion Tool, 383EER4001A Spring Removal Tool for Washing Machine Outer Tub, Replacement for LG, Maytag

I was able to use this to put back the retaining ring on an LG washer without any problems. I placed the ring on from the top and placed the spring at the 6 o clock position. Then I placed the tools prongs in the rings larger holes connected to the springs smaller loops to extend the ring to slide over the gasket. It took 4 minutes. I replaced the ring once before with needle nose pliers. It took all my strength and several hours. So this too is definitely worth it. It will work on an LG washer. Others may have been using the tool incorrectly. Watch a YouTube video and you will see how easy it is.

Super easy to use for front load washer rubber boot. tried to remove boot once before without this tool....what a pain that was. this tool made the job so much easier and faster.

Worked great for a Kenmoore/LG front loading washer. The welding where the tines meet the fulcrum of the tool looks like crap, but it held.

I purchased the spring expansion tool to fix the interlock switch on our dryer. I read so many reviews that said that taking the main gasket off to complete the repair was a nightmare, and getting it back on was even worse. This inexpensive expansion tool (yes, it's about a third of the price of the original LG tool) did exactly what it was supposed to do, and made what many described as a tedious lengthy job, simple. I was able to change out the switch in less than 5 minutes total. If you are looking for the highest quality tool for commercial use, maybe this isn't the best one out there. But for the homeowner that may use it only once or twice (then loan it out to a friend), this is by far the best option. Highly recommended. The total cost to fix the dryer (switch and tool) on Amazon was about $35 versus the how many hundreds to call out a repairman, or over a hundred to buy the part and tool directly from LG.

This is a must if you are removing the spring band on a washing machine boot. With this tool it only took a few seconds. Without it I could see struggling with it for a long time and possibly even tearing the boot. It's one of those tools that makes what would be a difficult and frustrating job quick and simple.

I purchased this after Spring Expander after reading a review that stated that this was the tool best fit for expanding the spring on the inner gasket on an LG front load washer door seal. THIS IS NOT THE TOOL YOU ARE LOOKING FOR if you are looking to remove or install the inner ring/spring. However, it did work for the outer expansion spring.

So I struggled getting the springs back on for 5 hours and managed to only get one on. Even with two people, we could not get the outer spring on. I bought this and was done in less than a minute. So totally worth it. Of course I will probably never need it again, but I highly recommend this. Together with a youtube video and a Philips head, I could change out one of these front loader seals in about 45 minutes. Let me be more clear. DONT TRY TO DO A SEAL CHANGE WITHOUT ONE OF THESE!

This is the only tool that can easily perform this one task. Over $100, used it for all of 10 seconds. Shame on LG.
