I was hesitant when I read reviews that it was very lightweight. But it is getting harder to find apparel fabric in store so I took a chance. And I agree it wouldn't work as an upholstery fabric. But for dressmaking, it is a perfect mid-weight with a nice stretch. The color is stunning, it feels great to the touch (and I am sensitive to synthetics) and the pile is thick enough to have a consistent luster. Very happy with this purchase!

Soft and stretchy. Beautiful fabric. did the job. But the color is a little different from picture. Different monitors give diff shade of colors.

This is very nice fabric with a pile that does not matte or show where it was ‘touched’ like some velvet fabrics do. Signed a seamstress of 63 years.

The velvet is true royal blue. The only small drawback is the pile is NOT deep at all. But for the price it is to be expected. A deeper pile would be a higher price. All in all this is beautiful and drapes lovely. I bought one yard which came folded in a small package and to my surprise it's not wrinkled at all. Looks like a high end velvet. I got it for a craft but I wouldn't hesitate to use it for clothing. Really. Update: I ordered the dark green It's as nice as the royal blue. However it arrived with a lot of wrinkles. Will try steaming them out. It's still beautiful

I ordered this fabric in the color eggplant to re cover velvet storage ottomans that were burgundy. It is TRUE eggplant. Not too purple, not too red The color is rich and perfect. The material is a good elasticity and a nice medium weight. The first one I cut wrong to where I didn't know if i had enough fabric left for the last cube but because I was able to stretch it, i covered them all. This is actually a good deal for the quality of fabric. I will definitely order more for other projects that require fabric.

Tissu très mince. Pas aussi doux que du vrai velours. Fait beaucoup de poussière à la découpe. Bonne élasticité et ne se froisse pas.
