Plumb Pak 400WK Plastic P-Trap Kit with Reducing Washer, 1.5" or 1.25", White

I ordered two kits, and I'm glad I did. Our 44 year old house required a longer segment, so I used the second kit to create an extension (the loop was unchanged, just the straight run was too short). After assembly, not a drop of leakage; those angled washers work very well.

This is a standard P-trap and worked quite well with other 1-1/2” components. The J part is a standard 3-1/2” on center. What makes it work for either 1-1/2” or 1-1/4” is the inclusion of two different washers (which is also fairly typical). We needed it because we installed a new vanity with a slightly different sink drain location. The horizontal arm of the existing P-trap was glued into the drain pipe at the wall and cut too short to reach the new sink drain. We really didn’t want to try to remove it and then have to glue the new one in its place. Instead, we cut the old one, leaving a little over an inch for the nut and washer; cut the new one to size; and used a 2-sided slip joint connector in between the two cut pieces. This way, future vanity replacements will be easier. We also needed an extension piece for the upper part of the J section of the P-trap in order to reach the new sink drain (taller vanity). This project was definitely a learning experience for us. Everything was pretty easy to install. We used the 1-1/2” washers everywhere except where the extension meets the sink drain. This P-trap worked well with the two pieces we bought locally. No glue or plumbers tape or putty or anything else was needed. The nuts and washers create a good seal. We checked everything several times and couldn’t find any leaks. The quality / durability seems to match that of the many other white plastic plumbing parts. No surprises. The price seems good considering it’s delivered. Of course, we ended up needing to visit the store for the other pieces we needed… but that’s on us.

This makes working under a sink about as easy as it can get when replacing a P trap. It is easy to use and can adjust to either 1.5 or 1.25 inch fittings. Very light weight, but strong.

The Plastic P-Trap was incredibly easy to install. I didn’t need any special tools or plumbing experience to get it set up. The instructions provided were clear and straightforward. It took me less than 30 minutes to replace the old P-trap with this new one, which was a huge plus for me as a DIYer. It was easier than running to the hardware store since I didn't need it fixed that day. Then when it showed up, it reminded me I had to do that. Saved me 30 minutes running to the store by not buying it in person.

There's technically nothing wrong with it, it't just not the heavy duty version and it doesnt come with the 1 1/2" PVC glue on adapter. I ended up throwing this away and buying the heavy duty version at home depot that came with the adapter
