THE FILM, "COCOON" IS BRILIANT & ENCOMPASSES EVERY HUMAN EMOTION FOR ADULTS. IT RANKS IN MY TOP 10. THESE PRAISES AREN'T LIMITED TO THE MOVIE BUT ALSO FLOW INTO THE SOUNDTRACK - WHICH I ABSOLUTELY CHERISH. I'M A 65 Y.O. MALE & I WAS WIDOWED 11 YRS AGO. I'M DEPRESSED, LONELY & AFRAID WITH NO FAMILY OR FRIENDS. BUT, WHEN I FIND LIFE'S CHALLENGES TO BE TOO MUCH, ALL I HAVE TO DO IS IMMERSE MYSELF INTO MY MUSIC & THE "COCOON" SOUNDTRACK SOOTHES MY EMOTIONS. THIS SCORE IS BEYOND COMPARE TO ANY OTHER SINCE IT'S SO INCREDIBLY BEAUTIFUL. I OWN THE LP & CASSETTE FOR THIS & THE RECORD IS NOW WARPED & CAN'T BE PLAYED & THE CASSETTE, WHILE STILL PLAYABLE, HAS THE LINGERING "HISS" COMMON WITH THIS FORMAT. WITH THIS CD, I CAN NOW ENJOY THE MUSIC IS PERFECT CLARITY. CONSUMERS: DON'T HESITIATE - BUY THIS WONDERFUL MUSIC CD & YOU'LL ENJOY IT FOREVER.

Absolutely delighted to get this cd and see the "Cocoon" soundtrack finally released in all its glory. Unlike the original vinyl soundtrack which just included the main tracks, the full score is included here along with the song "Gravity", some unused music etc. and all remastered and sounding amazing... plus there's a cool souvenir booklet too. This is James Horner coming into his prime as a film composer with varying superb themes and tracks joining to make one of his finest scores - touching, sweet, thrilling, wondrous and fun... just like the movie. A great buy and well done to the remastering and compiling team on a great job done in bringing this to us.

One of the most beautiful cinematic scores, and by far, my favorite from the talented composer, James Horner, this complete edition has every music cue from the film, unlike its trimmed-down original release. For years I wanted the complete score but it was either incredibly expensive or just didn't exist in its entirety. My 30-year hunt is over and I couldn't be more pleased to finally have it. Thank you for the memories, smiles and tears, Mr. Horner!

Great music

Let me first point out that this is a beautiful score composed by James Horner for the film Cocoon. It’s high-spirited and uplifting, reminiscent of his work on Star Trek II: The Wrath Of Khan. I bought the CD soundtrack from Intrada back in May and noticed there was a music sequencing issue starting with Track 11. The ‘Theme From Cocoon’, AKA the End Title Theme, was placed there instead of ‘Rose’s Death’. The good news is that all the music from the soundtrack is still on the CD. However, due to this error, Tracks 11 to 18 are not aligned with what’s on the list. Intrada informed me they are aware of the flaw and they won’t be sending out anymore copies of Cocoon until this problem is fixed. Then I recently noticed that Amazon was selling the CD soundtrack to Cocoon. I took a chance and bought one. Unfortunately, when I listened to it, the same sequencing issue exists, so I returned it. I am hopeful that there will be a corrected CD for Cocoon coming real soon. 5 stars for the music, but giving 3 stars only due to the tracking issue. (11/22/21 UPDATE: Intrada has corrected the sequencing problem and was gracious enough to send me a replacement disc.)

I am a huge fan of this film, and an even bigger fan of James Horner's score for it. I am very pleased that I was able to obtain a copy of this score! It is well worth the price.

I love this CD! Gravity, by Michael Sembello, is my favorite song and this soundtrack is the only CD I've been able to find it on.

This music works very, very well for the movie soundtrack, but as stand-alone music it's quite grating and jarring, not so fun to listen to. Sorry, James Horner, it shouldn't have been sold apart from the movie.
