Ambient WeatherWS-2902-ARRAY Replacement Sensor Array

Our outdoor station took a beating from a hurricane. This is a great replacement. No issues at all!

My wife loves her weather station. This is her third one.

Perfectly replaced older one, but begs the question: Why did the original sensor array quit so soon? Yes I know the warranty is only one year, but three is what it takes apparently for a perfectly good one to die. The first thing I noticed on the original was the solar cell on top getting all wrinkled and fuzzy, sort of like a child's fingertips after they've sat in a bathtub for hours too long. But then, why did the old one die so young? The signal seemed to get very weak - it worked fine after a reset and sitting indoors next to the receiver station. But back up on the roof 20 ft. away, the connection was not working. LAME! I think they need a better warranty!

I replaced my outdoor sensors, was so easy I followed the directions on line from Ambuant Weather site. All functions worked perfectly.

We have been using this unit for about a year now and really like knowing the wind speed, rain measurement, temperature, and humidity at our house as the nearest weather station to us is 12 miles away in the valley and often quite different from what we are experiencing up on the mountain foot hills.

One year warranty, two year lifespan.It's great when it works - but we're now on our second (third, counting the original) sensor array.Can get systems with five year warranty - at 8x the cost - so you put your money down and take your chances.

My old sensor array had stopped measuring humidity and was out of warranty so I ordered this one to replace it. Swapping this one for the old one was simple - connected immediately to the base station. I’ve been using this series of weather stations since 2010, and this is only the third array I’ve procured over that time period.

I purchased the first unit (Ambient Weather WS-2902C WiFi Smart Weather Station) on Jan 9, 2022. Within a couple of months the wind speed sensor quit working.Rather than struggle with returning or replacing I just ordered new complete replacement unit (Ambient Weather WS-2902-ARRAY Replacement Sensor Array, WS-2902 Wireless Weather Station) on May 9, 2022.Total cost for both: $299.98.Now the second unit has quit showing rain fall and outdoor humidity.I had originally bought this weather station so I could see what was going on at my location during thunderstorms and/or bad weather. Now I put an ice cream bucket out on the deck to estimate the rainfall. (Actually, I wish I had just done this before and skipped buying anything from Ambient.)If you will allow an understatement, I am unbelievably disappointed.
