24V 10" Cordless TORQDRIVE™ String Trimmer , Battery and Charger Not Included

For me, at 74 years old, lots of things are too heavy for me. But this trimmer is perfect. It does a good job and lasts long enough to trim my 1/3 acre yard. It doesn't die after 1/3 acre, but why would I keep using it once everything is looking beautiful? I'd recommend no matter your size or age. It's a great product.

Giving it 5 stars for ease of use, quality. Buying it without the 24V battery (already have one for another Greenworks product) made the price very attractive! After 34 years of a corded trimmer I thought I deserved something lightweight and cord free ;) Assembly was mostly ok, but putting the shafts together required some ooomph (I used rubber gloves for a better grip). Also, the manual should tell you to throw away the rubber thingies that are evidently just for packaging and shipment.

I haven't used it yet because it does NOT come with a battery and charger! The description does say "tool only" - but I assumed that was in reference to the combination bundles that were immediately pitched upon clicking (adding a leaf blower and mower.) The first line of this should be "Battery and Charger sold separately." Simple enough right? So now I just spent 45 minutes on their site trying to find the right battery and charger. There are countless model numbers and battery numbers. I searched on questions, I submitted questions, I called customer service but when I finally got through after 30+ minutes I was too annoyed and ready to return it. But then returning this and researching another model was also a time-suck. So I broke down and ordered what I can only hope is the right battery and charger. That brought my total to $110.00, only to discover Amazon is offering another model (12 inch instead of this 10 inch) for $99.00!

I bought this weed whacker (tool only) because, I needed something quick and cordless, plus, I already have the Greenworks circular saw, battery, and charger. I saw people complain about it constantly feeding line and chopping it off. The instructions tell you how it feeds, which is, when you completely stop it, and kick it on, that's how it activates the feeding mechanism. You don't "gas it," up and down, on and off, I know it's a habit, or compulsion, but you must keep it running while you're walking, until you need to feed it again. Just knowing that, will keep everyone from feeling "ripped off." I'm locking the safety catch, because it's a royal pain, that is unnecessary. The old, electric, weed whackers from the '80s didn't have them, because we weren't low IQ, or helpless...

This is an absolute beast of a machine. Putting it together is very simple and does not use a ton of battery power. It chews through anything it comes against as long as it has enough wire to do it. Just like the mower that I bought, I was expecting some cheaper quality but was completely wrong. The only issue I had with this is the wire in the spool. Getting the center cap off is the hardest thing I've ever done even though it looks easy. This is worth the cash if you are looking to add to your yard equipment.

Poor durability. Although the motor itself seems to be fine, the metal pipes connecting the motor to the handle are thin and not well fixed in place. Within a few weeks of light use, the bottom started detaching from the top in the middle of using it. I regret not having spent more money on something a little higher quality.

Very lightweight compared to normal weed whip. Great value, quick charge and long power life. Easy for grandkids to use. Safety feature to hold button, turns off when you let go. Easy to store and transport

String does not feed, so I'm forever having to take the reel apart to pull out some more string.
