This is a real accounting of this product, no BS. I have some shirts that had been tainted by my foul stench when I sweat from being nervous. My normal sweat doesn't smell at all, but when I have something troubling me...i stink. Yep I'm gross, and thereafter on those days my shirts stink, just the underarm area to be clear. The smell still exists after being laundered or more specifically they smell clean until I put them on and within five minutes I can smell them again and it gets worse throughout the day. I hate it. I have tried all the tide's for active people and some other detergents that are supposed to eliminate this exact odor, most have made little or no difference and I was just getting ready to toss all the stinky shirts and start over. No big deal, who doesn't like new clothes??!! But before I dumped my whole workout wardrobe I decided there must something, that someone makes that can eliminate this lingering substance in my clothes. So I starting reading more reviews and found this product (Active Wear Detergent) So I ordered it.I read multiple reviews with mostly good results and one person had suggested putting 4 scoops in with a load of wash and that had worked really well. I decided to take it a step further. I got a 10 gallon bucket, poured 4 scoops in with hot water grabbed all my stinky clothes from my closet and let them soak for 3 days hoping the enzymes would do their job. After 3 days I poured the water and clothes in my front load washer and put it on the longest cycle I could. After the washer and dryer had done their job I was amazed that 97% of the smell was out ALL of my shirts. I had been fooled before only to be let down after I put the shirt back on and my skin apparently reignited the putrid smells hibernating within. Shockingly after wearing what had been my smelliest shirt for an entire day it was fine. I went on to wear more of those shirts over the next week or two with the same results. I am truly surprised that the chemistry cooked up by Active Wear actually worked. In fairness, I soaked these clothes in this solution for 3 days before laundering and I doubt that had I just put these shirts in the washer with a scoop or two that it would have had the same effect, but who cares. I can soak 20 shirts in a bucket once a year if I need to, it's really not that hard.If you have workout clothes that just never feel fresh, try this product with the soaking method and you will likely be pleasantly surprised as I was. I'm not one to write a review usually, but this product is amazing. My boyfriend has beloved lacrosse shirts from his college days that smelled so bad from years of sweat. I initially soaked the shirts in a bucket with hot water with one scoop of this over night. I then washed the shirts as normal with another scope of the detergent. The smell is completely gone. I've also used it to get the smell out of my son's lacrosse shirts. This product also got rid of the mildew smell that I could always smell in my towels. I can't recommend this product enough. This now a staple in all of my laundry loads.

Great product, it saved my old workout clothes, headbands, socks and underwear or any clothes with a funk that won't go away. I had some tees that I washed with all kinds of detergents. This was the only product that removed the old odor. It was the stubborn type of odor that would hide after a wash and reappear after a few minutes of wear. This solved all of that.FOR STUBBORN ODOR MAKE SURE TO SOAK IN THE DETERGENT FIRST!I soaked my clothes with a single scoop in hot water for about 30 min. I washed normally with the detergent after and the smell was completely gone.

Effective odor removing for synthetic fabrics, but be warned: this makes fabric bleed A LOT. Separate your darks and lights! I noticed that my lights were coming out tinged gray when washed with my black workout clothes. I did a little test in a wash basin and it caused colors to run immediately, even if they're not new. Be careful!

I was about to throw out about 5 of my husband's work shirts because I could NOT get out the terrible smell of them. I refuse to use strong perfumes in detergents and spend a bit more on a more natural detergent, hang clothes on the line and use baking soda and vinegar on things that are particularly stinky. Nothing worked. I found out about this product online and thought I'd give it a try. I followed the directions of how much to put in, soaked his shirts for a few hours in this detergent enzyme, hung the clothes on the line and VOILA! They have been redeemed. Thank you! This stuff works!

Used it for the first time and for the first time my gym clothes had no odor after washing. I’ve used in wash sanitizer, borax, tide hygienic clean pods and none have done the job like this product.

I pre-soak heavily soiled loads of stinky clothes for 30 minutes with 3-5 scoops of Active Wear in hot water before I wash them. I also throw in some regular iaundry detergent. It works great for me.

This is an excellent detergent! It does a super job on all our clothes......from tough (stinky) athletic gear to my favorite whites..I just adjust the amount of detergent I use and set the right water temp. The clothes are cleaner and the colors and whites pop after each wash! Highly recommend, you won't be disappointed.
