Learn to Play Piano in Six Weeks or Less: Intermediate Level

This book, along with the videos which accompany it, is the best method for learning jazz piano. The exercises, if practiced diligently, will have you up to speed in a short time. You can be the guy, or gal, who turns up at social occasions able to roll off a few songs without breaking into a sweat if you follow the advice given in this book.

I really like Dan's book, Learn To Play piano in 6 weeks or less, the intermediate level. The information is presented in a very clear systematic way to help facilitate the learning process . This book picks up were his first one left off. There are free videos to support all the lessons to aid in learning the material correctly. I was looking for a way to learn a chord/fakebook way to play music. Due to COVID 19, I was not comfortable taking lessons in person. This book (I've used the intermediate one) is wonderful and I'm so happy I found it. When mixed with the online lessons, it's almost like getting personal lessons . In some ways it's better, because one can progress at their own speed. I recommend it highly. It's especially helpful for people who have been taught in the traditional way to play written music only. It is so liberating to be freed from just playing the notes on a sheet music page. It also gives an amateur like me a better understanding of how music is constructed and where all these chords come from.

For a senior attempting to learn to play piano, it's a good item
