It is not a camera lens. It's a director's viewfinder for looking at scenes without a camera. Small and light, movie directors use them to check out framing before setting up heavy cameras. Zoom lens, variable aspect ratio for most standard film/video formats. It's a more sophisticated way to visualize compositions than the old familiar way of holding up your hands with palms open and extended thumbs touching to get a rough idea of what a picture would include. I carry mine with me a lot to check out scenes and find compositions I like before lugging my hefty Nikon gear bag to the site.
