Elmer Batters (1919–1997) was the grand master of leg and foot art. While others preferred the thrill of an inviting cleavage, the maestro’s eye was on lower things—trim calves, the arch of a foot, the well-made lines of toes and heels. He chose his models with these criteria in mind—and with the obsessiveness of a Zen artist spent his lifetime looking for the perfect leg. Batters started out publishing his photos himself, but from the late ’60s onwards the field was his, and he was the star house photographer of magazines such as Leg-O-Rama, Nylon Doubletake,and Black Silk Stockings, to name but a few. This book pays homage to Batters’s great obsession with legs, feet, and toes. If you love feet and vintage photos, this book is for you. A wide variety of models that won't disappoint. Comes with a reversible cover that says "Works of Plato" for any sneaky guys out there.

I've always been a fan of Elmer Batters and his work. So I was pleased to see this book on sale. I was especially interested in the cover photo of Rene Bond, the 70's porn actress. Unfortunately there were only 3 other photos of her inside. The rest is but a small sample of what Elmer Batters does best. Still, for those who enjoy this type of art I would recommend it.

An ancient era of eroticism!
The work of Elmer Batters can be given with confidence in this book, most of the pictures are in black and white and focus on the fetish of the feet of the models. There is a vintage atmosphere that delicious looking and excitement is evident! I recommend to all who appreciate the origins of one of the hidden male fetish!

A good read and nice photos.
I'll admit, I'd never heard of Elmer Batters until I got this book. Being a fan of vintage photos such as these, the cover caught my eye quickly and I decided to take a chance buying it. I found myself pleasantly surprised. Not only is the book full of good photos, but the story of Elmer was quite interesting as well. Definitely glad I bought it.

Interesting and Intriguing Look at Glamour and Fashion!
Another contrasting look at fashion and glamour photography. A very interesting approach, pushing the envelope to the edge, yet retaining an air of sophistication and intrigue. Very well written and illustrated. A bit risque for some, but nice for the more culturally aware and open minded folks.

to much reading material & to many feet close ups & the lesbian scenes where so phony in that they were only playing w/the feet, never giving the breasts or vagina any attention.

Very nice, enjoyable to read. I would like to find the girl like that. Hopefully I can take photos like this book.

this is a journey
into the darkest recesses of the male mind, we are a weird lot, but if you are prepared to have your boundaries pushed...then this is for you lad. Beyond cheesecake, beyond pin up, this is what a Victorian gentleman would have shown his mates after dinner.....dark and dirty...not porn....more sleaze with a touch of kink and a dash of fetish lite

Elmer Batters
Libro particolare, dove i soggetti "piede" e "calze" mettono quasi in secondo piano le modelle. Centinaia di scatti in b/n e qualcuno a colori realizzati tra gli anni '60 e i '70, tutti molto eleganti e mai volgari, anche in quei (rari) casi in cui i genitali femminili sono in bella mostra. L'impaginazione purtroppo penalizza alcune foto panoramiche (che tra l'altro sono quelle più belle secondo me). Vista la tendenza della moda femminile il libro rappresenta comunque un'importante testimonianza di un fenomeno di costume e la celebrazione di un capo di abbigliamento che molto difficilmente tornerà in auge.
