Excellent product. Buy this over Aluminum step-up adapters
Breakthrough Photography's step-up lens adapter ring is firstly made from brass and not aluminum. Just like B+W's filters which are made from brass, this is important because brass expands and contracts at different temperatures than aluminum. In essence this adapter ring will stay true to form better than an equivalent aluminum one, allowing you to easily attach and remove it and not have the dreaded stuck filter syndrome whereby the filter you have attached to your lens has expanded or contracted just enough that you can no longer remove it (at least until the temperature has normalized again). Living in the South where we have long hot summers, this is important to me and one of the main reasons I thought I would try this step-up adapter. The adapter has an electroplated black finish to it so that it fairly much matches your lens and this is harder to scratch and look bad. It also helps with weathering making this weather and corrosion proof. Breakthrough Photography's adapter also has a ribbed outer edge which is excellent as it gives you much needed grip making it very easy to screw on and off your lens and also for when you are attaching and removing your filter. The main reason I got this adapter is that I have a bunch of filters for my Canon 24-70IIL lens which takes a 82mm filter, but I also have the Canon 100-400IIL and the 70-200IIL lenses which take 77mm filters. This step-up adapter would allow me to use my 82mm filters on my other L lenses removing the need to buy separate 77mm versions of each filter (which are over $100 a pop aren't exactly cheap). I tested this out this weekend with the solar eclipse. I have a 82mm ND10000 solar filter which I wanted to use on my 100-400 lens. It worked flawlessly. The filter fit fine, with the ribbed outer edge I could very quickly remove the filter during totality and quickly screw it back on once totality finished. It worked a charm. I realize this is slightly more expensive than the cheaper aluminum step-up filter adapters but it is thoroughly worth it.

The Breakthrough Photography 67mm to 82mm step-up lens adapter ring boasts amazing build quality with its CNC machined brass and matte black electroplated finish. It fits perfectly and feels incredibly sturdy, making it my go-to lens adapter brand for every shoot. The precision and durability give me total confidence when using various filters on my lenses.

Very well built.
Perfect fit to my lens(es) and filters. Screwing and unscrewing filters into this adapter ring and it onto my lenses is smooth and solid, with no binding. It may cost more than other adapter rings, but the quality makes it worth it.

High quality!!!
Fantastic quality! Great threads, brass construction. Easy to remove from the lens because of the grippy construction. A good filter is money well spent... You get a 2k+ camera, a couple of thousand dollar lenses, and then put a 20 dollar piece of glass on it. You get what you pay for. These filters are right up there with B+W, HOYA.

Like the quality. Very heavy duty. Will be buying more

Great!
Works great, and doesn’t bind. Same build quality as my Breakthrough filters from 10ish years ago!

Heavy-duty, Solid Brass Doesn't bend.
I purchased two different sizes of these step-up rings. These are heavy, solid brass rings - very rigid, won't warp or bend like cheap aluminum step-up rings. Over decades of doing photograph professionally I have come to know you get what you pay for. These screw into the front of a lens nicely without jamming the way cheap, light-weight rings can do.

A well made step-up ring that does not bind to the filter!
I ordered this step-up ring in hope to find out if it's really as good as ppl say and if it will solve the binding issue I had with *every single step-up ring* I bought so far. The short answer is: Yes. The longer answer: Usually I make sure I don't screw a filter all the way into a step-up ring, so it's easier to remove it. However, when working with C-PL, I usually end up with the filter getting screwed tighter and tighter as I use it more and more with a step-up ring. The result is that most often than not, I find myself struggling to separate the two, even with filter wrenches. With this step-up ring, the first thing I did was to take my C-PL filter and screw it all the way in and see if I can unscrew it using my hands. Each time I screwed it tighter and tighter. So far - I have no problems unscrewing the filter, even when it's screwed into the ring as tight as possible. To sum it up: This step-up ring is a little heavier than the others I've had, the ridges on it are a great feature as it gives you more grip for separating it from a filter, it's definitely well made, and (most important) it's doing exactly what you expect it to do without the risk of binding with your filters.

I specifically bought this brand because of reviews suggesting the design & build was less likely to result in stuck filters. Not the case for me. Not impressed.

I own two other, more affordable step-up rings. I've always wished they felt more substantial than flimsy in use. So I took a chance that this might be better to work with. I wasn't wrong. I noticed immediately that these were much better made rings. The brass makes it much heavier in the hand and helps it screw on better than my old rings. The knurled edge make it so much easier to hold & to use. I feel much more confident using this brass step-up ring than my old aluminium ones. A high quality, well crafted product. It'll last years. Just get it.

These are on the pricey side. I compared it to the Nisi model I have that serves the same purpose. If they were the exact same price I would choose this one. BUT! I have to say, they are so close in quality that if money is tight, buy the Nisi model as it’s cheaper and is also very good. The difference is the Breakthrough Photography model is maybe 2mm larger in diameter and is a slight bit easier to handle in my opinion. More metal to grab and twist where you will less accidentally grab the filter at the same time when removing it. It sounds stupid, but when you are rushing around changing filter set ups it feels easier in the hand. This is brass, like the NISI and has a knurled grip. It has good weight to it. It’s very nice quality. Premium for sure. Recommended.
