A lot of people saying this tastes nasty. It must be polarizing like cilantro. This brand tastes just like beer. Not nasty at all?

I guess we all have different tastes, I love cilantro! I tried the brewers yeast with different mediums and it still tasted bitter to me. It sure didn't taste like beet to me. My Husband LOVES beer but said it never tasted like beer to him.

Has anyone used this brand to make lactation cookies?

Yes, I have. The typical lactation cookie recipe calls for 2-4 Tablespoons of brewer's yeast, but 4 tbsp was too bitter for me. Keep it around the 2-3 tbsp mark, and they'll be delicious!

can I use it to brew beer/wine?

Best answer is no. If it hasn't been deactivated it would make crummy tasting beer. Use dry yeast from grocery store instead.

What brand is debittered?

Oh they all are but the texture and taste vary with every brand. Some atre more nutty in taste. That’s good.

Costly, but worth it.

I bought this for the purpose of making lactation cookies. They are extremely potent and served it's purpose. Very costly, so I don't think I would buy again. Else, it's good to purchase.

Strong flavor hard to mask

I’ve never used a product like this before. Brewers yeast has a very noticeable flavor, which is hard to mask. Masks best in chocolate, and I imagine it would go well in savory food. I got for boosting milk silly while breast feeding, but I don’t think it’s helping because I can’t eat much of it in a day due to its flavor.

Good for lactation treats

Obviously, the flavour isn't fantastic on its own. I used this for making lactation treats, which ended up tasting great. I do NOT use the recommended amount in one go because of the taste. I sprinkle in on peanut butter toast, marmite, you can put it in soups and most cooking in small amounts. Helpful in lactation.
