The monitor mode of this intercom system can work for 10 hours, it will disconnect beyond that time and then need to reset.

We are sorry for that we do not quite understand your words "AV speaker out", does it mean connecting external speakers?
Our intercom system has built-in speakers, and there is no extra port for connection the external speakers.

For your question, we want to tell you:
If the unit a in monitor mode,the unit b can only hear the voice from the unit a and can not talk back to unit a by pressings talk button.This version intercom can not be set permanent monitor mode,it has 10 hours monitor limit.

If each intercom is set up with its own channel, is there a way to "page" all channels so an announcement can be heard on all devices?

Yes, you can do that. You can press and hold the GROUP button to speak and then all units will receive your message even they have the different channel and code.
