Philips AE2330/00 Bathroom Splashproof Clock Radio

For some reason this radio is pretty difficult to get hold of. It does sell on eBay, but it's a bit more expensive than what you'll pay here on Amazon (at least at the time of purchasing mine) - but you'll have to wait a bit longer to acquire it this way. I seemed to wait for ages after placing my order, and at one point almost cancelled and paid the extra to get it sooner from eBay. However; this radio was WELL worth the wait, it's EXCELLENT quality - both the actual unit itself, and the sound! I was able to tune in and get a great reception of my favourite station `Classic FM'. which at times on other radios I have is not always a very strong signal, and in my bathroom the reception is good, which can also be a problem with some radios. I like the `nifty' and `chunky' knob on the top which serves both as a `dial' as well as a push button! There's a very clear and nice sized digital display which serves both as a clock as well as your tuner, and you can store your fav. station so there's no need to constantly retune every time you use it. As a collector of Shower Radios, this is among my favourites already and would recommend it to anyone, and to say to anyone ordering this item from Amazon and having to wait - to definitely do just that as you won't regret it! A very nice quality and gorgeous looking Shower Radio! Five stars from me!

Having bought a cheap model as a replacement for my old shower radio when water finally got into the battery dept, i found i needed to replace that within weeks as it just wasn't up to the job. I decided I needed to spend a bit more to get the same quality as my previous one. This is a good quality item with clear radio reception. As previously mentioned in other reviews it's a shame the clock doesn't display when the radio is switched on - I used the clock on my previous one to keep an eye on the time when getting ready in the mornings. I've knocked a star off for this as otherwise it is an excellent item.

Volume knob is rubbish, keeps jumping around. Radio is not very intuitive to program etc. Sound quality OK

Purchased after reading other reviews, but on this occasion should have listened to those describing the sound as tiny. In all other respects the radio was exactly what I wanted but I couldn't live with the inadequate sound (both speech and classical music). The bottom line is that the small speaker was not up to the job, and this is the first time I've ever returned a purchase to Amazon (an amazingly hassle-free process with full refund of postage costs too - well done Amazon!)

This is the first time I write a negative review on Amazon, but I would actually feel irresponsible towards other consumers if I didn't! I expected top audio quality from a brand like Philips and was actually replacing an older Philips shower radio, which I dearly regret now. While the design and casing is fine and has the right size, the main feature: sound - is bad. I cringe every time I switch on the radio and now only use it when I have to. It sounds like one of the first ever radios, very crackly and flat. The old Philips shower radio (purchased around 2000) had very good sound so I wonder how a product from the same brand can actually decline??! Apart from being overpriced for what you get - a pretty shell - I wouldn't recommend buying it if you appreciate good sound, it is 2016 after all!

Just wanted something to listen to while in the bath. My last radio/cd player was great but finally the switch selector broke and although I managed a Heath Robinson repair it eventually failed completely. This little radio has great sound and volume for a mono speaker. Plenty of pre-sets, 20 each for FM and Med. Battery life seems to last a lot longer than my previous radio too, so very happy there. Has a wire aerial which I just loop over a wall mounted cabinet and the reception is excellent. Has a handle which can be used if you want to hang it in the shower, but folds neatly out of the way if not required. Only gripe I have is that it does not display the time while you are listening to the radio. Minor grumble, perhaps they'll bring out a modified version. Would recommend this if you don't want to spend a lot of money but want something suitable while you're relaxing in the bath. Have never had to have the volume turned right up, as the sound is great at medium levels.

This is a great radio for a small to medium sized bathroom. The sound is reasonably clear given the size of the unit. Once the presets are set up is very easy to change radio channel. Unlike some cheaper novelty bathroom radios this maintains the volume setting when switched off and on. I have not used the handle but it is fairly stable standing on a shelf. Recommended.

My Sony bathroom radio had given up after many years and I was going to replace it with another Sony, but saw this was cheaper and I have no regrets! No problems tuning - radio 2 and 4 and all local radio stations very clear. Excellent sound quality and been in bathroom for a few weeks now and stood up to splashes and damp. would highly recommend - simple, good quality and does what it says.

Love this for the shower the clock is great and listen to your weather for the day.

Todos tenemos manías. Una de las mías es levantarme y ducharme oyendo la radio para ponerme al día. Llevo 30 años haciendo lo mismo y por ello he estropeados muchas radios. Es cierto que las "buenas", de marcas reconocidas (Sony, Grundig, Aiwa...), han durado un tiempo considerable, mientras que otras han dejado de funcionar en una semana.... Buscando una alternativa a la última que he estropeado, encontré esta radio Philips de excelente factura. Su acabado es muy bueno al igual que la calidad de sonido. Al ser una radio con sintonizador digital, la frecuencia no se pierde ni se distorsiona la audición aunque la lleves paseando por la casa. Es un poco grande, pero creo que esto obedece a la carcasa que le permite soportar salpicaduras sin problemas. La operativa es simple una vez que se entiende la función de cada botón. Tal vez lo más negativo es la escueta información del manual (una hoja A3 contiene el manual en 6 idiomas...) . Con el precio que la ofrece Amazon, es sin duda una opción excelente como radio para el baño.

Sono un "maniaco" delle radio; ne posseggo di tutti i tipi, posizionate in ogni stanza, compresa la cabina armadio ! ; mi mancava nella doccia. Ad essere sincero alcuni anni addietro ne avevo comprata una, proprio per la doccia - che si rivelò un vero fiasco !!. Quasta invece è affidabile (anche colpita dall'acqua - certamente non sommersa - ovviamente - contnua a funzionare !), si sente molto bene e non "gracchia" ! ; inoltre ha l'aspetto molto robusto. Ancora, la possibilità di memorizzare le stazioni la rende molto pratica ! Insomma , un gran bel prodotto, forse un pò caro, ma che funziona veramante bene !

Super radio pour la douche. Le son n'est pas symphonique, mais c'est pour écouter sous la douche... S'accroche facilement, se règle facilement, surtout grâce a la mémorisation automatique des 20 premières stations. Capte bien, mais ne pas couper le fil souple de l'antenne, cela fait vraiment une différence. Bref, très satisfait de ce produit.
