Flame Boss Smart BBQ Smoker Temperature Controller with Patented Variable Speed Fan, 400 Universal WiFi with 2 Probes for Weber, Char-Griller, Drum Smokers, Offset Smokers

This is a unsolicited review of the flameboss 400 and i rarely write reviews. This device is on the expensive side but it works very well. In fact, it almost feels like cheating when using it on my Weber Smokey Mountain. The WSM does hold temps fairly well once you learn vent control but the flameboss 400 takes it to another level. Setup was a breeze. Download the app, connect to the flameboss, set your temps for pit and meat and off you go. It took about 3 min. to attach the metal kit adapter to my wsm. I mainly wanted this device to aid in long low and slow cooks thru the night and the flameboss was rock solid. It maintained 225 for 8 hours within a plus and minus 3 degree of target temp. (just as good as my pellet grill). I wanted to bump temps up to 250 and within 10 min. it was there. Had to run a to store and reset temp to 225 and it took 20 min. to reduce temp and then maintain at 250. The app has been flawless and I have monitored cooks while bowling and when running around doing chores. I use BB briquets for long cooks in the wsm and believe the flameboss helped with the overall efficiency of fuel usage. Time will tell how durable the product will be but for now I'm very happy with it. There are several good youtube videos on this product that are worth looking at for more in-depth information.

At first glance I was ecstatic that there was a solution to a long night smoke without me spending hours watching my pit. Little did i know that this product was a huge waste of money. From the start I had connectivity issues and the fan would literally wait for a 30 degree difference between it would even kick on, someone's even more!. I own a slightly modified char griller smokin champ that I thought would have definately benefited from this fan but wow was I wrong. I would like the thing if i was able to control the fan through the app but you can't even do that. I will definately be returning this because as much as I spent on this, for only a few dollars MORE, I could have bought another controller that would have worked. Maybe this will work on a kettle style grill or Smokey mountain but this was a waste of time for my stick burner.

This wifi smoker is superb! A bit pricey but it makes smoking and grilling a piece of cake!!! I use it on a Weber 18.5” Smokehouse and the only thing I need to do is to add more lump coal and wood when I see the fan output at 100% and the grill temperature keeps falling. It’s perfect! Had some initially connectivity issues but that was likely due to the location of my wifi router. It’s nice to be able to monitor the grill and meat temperatures from the warmth of your home when it’s raining or freezing outside!!!! Worth every penny!

I loved the concept of a fan that interfaces with your phone vs having to conect to a main unit. That said, my first cook took about an hour to get it to connect. I had two calls to tech support in the early morning. The support team answered the phone and were very helpful and patient. Once connected I tried to adjust the tempeture up but couldn't get it to work on a fully updated iPhone 12 Pro. Another call to tech support - their suggestion was to try on a different device so I tried my iPad and it worked, so I figured I could live with that as a workaround. Still not ideal. My next cook the device connected right away but about 30 minutes from being done it dropped the conneciton again. Everything else on my network was fine so it was the unit, not my conneciton. I had to use an instant read thermometer to get over the finish line as it never would reconnect. That was it for me. I boxed it up and returend it, which the company was cool about. On a side note the fan feels really fragile. I would say it had a structional integrety similar to a fragile Lego. it felt like one drop would do it in. So all in all the company stands by their product but this unit just wasn't for me. Too much hassle (no set and forget) and didn't feel like it would last long.

Would be 5 stars but the fan failed on the first one after about 2 years but overall I was happy with it and I did get a lot of use so I bought another after considering the other options for Weber Smokey Mountain. I like the all in one design.

Regelt vorausschauend mit geringer Geräuschentwicklung. Bei Enbindung in das häusliche WLAN braucht der FlameBoss aber ein starkes 2,4 GHz WLAN da er sonst immer wieder mal die Verbindung verliert. Ich bin begeistert!

I was sceptical about how much we’d use this but it is absolutely amazing! Hubby absolutely loves using this bit of kit - don’t know how we survived without it! Highly recommend!

Arrivato in confezione aperta e con un bullone mancante. La ventola non era funzionante, prodotto venduto per nuovo ma era palesemente usato e rotto (associandolo alla mia rete ho notato che era stato “nominato” in precedenza “o picciriello”. Reso immediatamente. Fortunatamente non avevo ancora bucato il weber
