Metra 99-8231 Single or Double DIN Installation Dash Kit for 2002-2006 Toyota Camry Without Factory Navigation

Works perfectly

Once I figured out how the pieces fit together, I installed the screws and it was ready. My Pioneer head unit would fit once I removed the original bezel from the head unit along with the metal collar. It them slipped into the dash kit and was secured to the mount. As for fit, not bad, but not as perfect as the original radio. Slight gaps around the head unit, but 1/32 inch spaces are not noticeable. I like the storage slot below the radio. It provides a space to place the remote or my phone. Overall, a good product.

I installed this Metra 99-8231 bezel and head unit adapter into the gaping maw of my '04 Toyota Camry. It accommodated both the car and and the double-DIN box perfectly and with zero modification. My experience with Metra adapters: They always fit. My _other_ experience with Metra adapters: They're kinda cheap quality. Metra adapters bezels are made of flimsy black ABS plastic, which does the job just barely. Expect any Metra adapter bezel to have a noticeable gap between the dash and the head unit; and expect each Metra adapter bezel to be aesthetically "off" in color and texture. With those caveats aside... If your intent is to quickly and conveniently install your box into your dash, Metra products are always reliable.

I used this to install a no name $45 double din radio into my 2006 Camry. Was very straight forward and easy. Only downfall was I had to carve out the mounting holes in order to position the radio in the correct place. Luckily the brackets are plastic so that was easy with a drill. The faceplate covered a few knobs and buttons on the side of the screen so I carved out around them so everything was functional. A little more work than I would of like, but for the price it was an easy install and looks dang near factory if you don’t hold a flashlight up to my custom faceplate modifications. 😂

As title states, this kit worked great to make my DD aftermarket head unit blend in with the rest of the dash. Just fyi, Instructions say a little different but I found it easier to install the plastic brackets to the head unit first and then install it to the car personally. Overall, it looks great and did its job well 👍

The Bezel doesnt fit my standard double din radio and the mounts dont have screw holes that line up properly. Save yourself some time and go with another brand.

Great price, holds stereo. Product has a huge achilles heel though: It doesn't really fit as it should. The glitch other reviews mention is real and wide, and the whole thing is flimsy. The plastic is of a very visibly different quality than the car's plastic. The adapter fits outside the factory setup, not seamlessly inside of it. The openings for the screws are U-shaped, instead of O-shaped, so they move when you tighten the screws. When you remove your factory radio which comes with aluminium clips, the plastic clips (left and right of the adapter in the photo above) look like they won't last particularly long. But, after all, it holds the car stereo in place so it sort of works anyway. Just don't have any big expectations.

Lo compré para mi Toyota Camry 2004. Tenía el radio original y decidí Cambiar a una pantalla más actual y compré una CarPlay. Este adaptador funcionó perfectamente y fue fácil de instalar y viene con todas las piezas que se necesitan se la recomiendo si desean instalar otro dispositivo y lo mejor que su envío es rápido.

It is the right kit for my 2006 Toyota Camry but there is a small 2mm gap on the bottom of the dash kit, just enough for you to notice, other than that its good quality and fits everywhere else

Se siente algo frágil en su construcción, queda un hueco en la parte de arriba y no queda muy bien al momento de poner el autoestereo, en mi caso tuve que limar un poco para que pudiera entrar.
