QSHAVEParthenon Razor V2.0, 9 Degrees Adjustable Double Edge Safety Razor (Black)

A very solid well-built safety razor! I've got a handful of shaves under my belt with this razor and they have all been d**n fine shaves (DFS). The razor is a bit on the aggressive side even on lower settings with a decent amount of blade feel at higher settings. I can comfortably go up to setting 6 myself. Settings 1 through 3 are great for daily shavers or every-other-day shavers. The feel of the shaves have all been smooth and effortless. The weight is on the heavy side, but not uncomfortably so. The knurling on the black model provides excellent grip. The butterfly mechanism opens smoothly and the adjustment dial takes two fingers to turn, so no accidental turning while shaving. Overall a very nice adjustable razor with a sleek look capable of some DFSs.

Right out of the box with a Feather blade. Setting to 3. It's an effortless shave. You do want to be careful, this isn't your average Gillette body plane. When you set it on your face, you will know that it requires respect. But, wow! I actually had to check to see if it cut the beard. Smooth as silk.

I really wish I could say something good about this razor. Unfortunately I cannot.The brass started showing through the black on the handle after the first shave.The adjustment ring does not click at each setting like many adjustable double-edge razors. So my suspicion is that over time the ring will loosen and the setting will change while shaving.The only way to get the ring to the “1” setting is to open the head, turn the ring to “1” and then close the head.I haven’t received a good shave from this razor. For the first shave I set it to ”5” and used a blade that came with the razor. I was bleeding like a stuck pig. So for the second shave I set it to “3” and used a Gillette blade. Still nicked me to death. Next shave I set it at “2” and used the blade I had used for the first shave. Still heavily nicked. Just to make sure, I used that same blade in a different razor I own and it was fine. I’m talking the difference between a couple of nicks with my old razor, and a dozen with the Qshave. This is a very aggressive razor, so if you are prone to getting nicked while shaving, do not purchase this razor.For the price I am very disappointed. I have a cheap ($9.00) adjustable razor made in Russia I purchased off of EBay that does better than this.I read good reviews on this product ar several shaving blogs, so I expected more.Bottom line: poor quality; poor performance.

This is one of the best looking razors out there but....... it gives you a shave that's aggressive to a fault. First, let me say that this is not my first rodeo. I'm 70+ years old and I have a bit of shaving experience. I started with a new blade and set the razor at 4-1/2 which is a mid-way point. The shave gave me more nicks and cuts than I ever had in my lifetime of shaving. My neck (which did not receive any nicks with shaving) was still brilliant red from irritation. I had to use hot compresses until the discomfort subsided. Okay. I needed to change the setting. Over the course of the following weeks I adjusted the setting downward. The shaves got better (no bleeding) but the irritation was considerable with each shave. My last shave was at the lowest setting possible and it was still an uncomfortable experience. Visually, I can't see any obvious defects in workmanship. Like I said. It's a good looking razor. So I'm guessing it's me and not the razor. If you currently get good result using an aggressive razor then I think you will like this one. As for me, I've gone back to my Edwin Jagger and Merkur razors.

After paying way too much for way too long to buy cheap throw-away razors, this was a return to "normal" for me (I'm 60). This is a beautiful, well-made, smooth-functioning, very adjustable razor. I wish it came with a stand to show off how classy it looks. The adjustment cuff allows you to set the blade angle exactly where you want it (which also allows you vary the angle as the blade wears down to prolong its usefulness). I should have loved it, but after daily use for two weeks, I decided return it because; 1.) It's rather heavy, and slow to use; 2.) That big chrome head is like shaving with a hammer, so each stroke must be either long-and-slow or short-and-slow to control momentum and keep proper pressure, 3.) The long handle reduces maneuverability, so it takes more effort to position it with each stroke. Essentially, the Parthenon worked well, but took nearly twice as long and double the effort to shave with this design. I expected it would require some additional focus with a traditional razor, so I won't give up on my return to the double-edge, but I'll have to settle for a lighter, less attractive, more functional design.

Very substantial feel and craftsmanship. I almost wish I didn't have a beard so I could shave more. Best razor I've used in 60 years.

Solid construction, good weight and feel. Provides a super close shave when adjusted right. Used with a feather blade.

Nice looking piece but bad performance .. (aggressive, and doesn't give smooth and clean shaving)
