Decaf Organic French Roast Whole Bean Coffee, 12 Ounce (Pack of 1)

These beans give a bold flavor and are a higher quality than the decaf beans I usually find. They were noticeably oily, which to me is a good sign for dark roast, and is very difficult to find as decaf. I feel they are very expertly roasted and do not have the burnt flavor some dark roasts pick up. I have made good pour over and espresso from these coffee beans.

I’ve been searching for decaf dark roast whole beans that make good crema in a doppio espresso. Several beans later, I finally found one! This dark roast whole bean coffee smells wonderful and delivers the crema I’ve been searching for. I grind at a little over 1.5 and use a precision basket. You could see the oil on the beans and in the bag (maybe because it’s a dark roast and they tend to be that way). The taste corresponds to a dark roast. Love that it’s Swiss water decaf because that keeps the caffeine out of the picture. I will definitely be buying again and again for my espressos. I do wish the roast date was on it, but not a big deal as long as it delivers what I expect from my coffee.

Bought to use in my new coffeemaker that uses whole beans. In the past I used to use the Starbucks Verona Decaf that came pre-ground. I've been looking for a good dark roast, yet decaf, coffee that came in whole beans since it appears that Starbucks doesn't make one. So I bought this one with high hopes and I wasn't disappointed! I typically mix equal measures of Starbucks Dark French Roast and their dark Verona Decaf. So I did a similar thing this time around with half of the Starbucks Dark French roast and half of this Allegro organic Decaf. First thing I noticed, which more than mildly surprised me, was that this Allegro Decaf was the SAME EXACT dark color as the Starbucks dark roast. Wow, that was a good start. This told me I was in for a treat since decafs are typically lighter in color. I really couldn't tell the color or shape of the beans from the Allegro vs. Starbucks. After brewing them in my automatic drip Cuisinart machine I tasted the coffee. I was very pleasantly surprised to find out that there was absolutely no difference in the fullness of flavor compared to what I have been drinking all these years. In sum, this is definitely a dark and robust version of a great-tasting decaf coffee. The price is a little bit more expensive than the Starbucks, but well worth it to me for the following reasons: 1. It tastes as good as Starbucks 2. It's rich in dark roast flavor 3. It's decaf, which is great on its own or good to use like I do by mixing it with regular caffinated coffee 4. It's ORGANIC...that's an added bonus that makes up for the extra 15% cost vs. the regular pre-ground coffee I've been using 5. Finally, it's whole bean; there just aren't too many decafs that come whole bean

Excellent decaf coffee I'm undecided between this and kicking horse brand decaf coffee both are excellent no bitterness extremely low acidity great taste I am a French roast fan and this Allegro is definitely satisfying and will stay in my Re-order list.

What a wonderful surprise! The minute I opened the bag I was hit with this delightful smell of fresh, aromatic coffee beans. The beans are a shiny dark brown/black and wonderfully oily, so I was hoping for the best and wasn't disappointed. By far, this is the best decaf I've tried and has no acidic taste. Perfect chemical free, hot morning motivator. Nice that's it's also affordable too. Highly recommend!

This whole bean decaf coffee is strong without being too acidic and gives me a smooth taste. I’ve used Allegro decaf whole beans for several years and have not been disappointed in the brew. It seems to always be fresh.

This is so good! Most dark roast decaf seem to strip the taste but this will be my go to. Ya'll better not be lying about the decaf part.

Disappointed...leaves the taste of an ashtray (for some reason certain coffees leave that taste in my mouth yuk)... will grind and add to a decaf that I like to use up the two bags I purchased.
