Yes, that’s what I used it for. Worked well.

Can this be placed on my waterfall and in my pond?

Have not tried it in water, but I do have it around my waterfall and across it a bit.

Will it grow into wood that has acrylic paint on it?

No, it needs a life surface. It would just sit on top of the paint. Unpainted would would be a welcome medium for moss.

Will this have live bugs or pests in it since it is harvested naturally?

I haven’t had a problem with bugs at all in the two orders I’ve placed in the past year.
